ABIT AI7 - Pentium®4 - 2.6GHz - Overclocking advice :) by
Wayne Youngman
Hi,
I'm just going through my last *stability* tests, and would like to begin
testing the overclocking aspects of my new rig.
I wanted to get the machine *Rock-Solid* using stock settings, now I got a
solid base to work from on my overclocking!

R9800NP - overclocking problem by
power_ranger
I overclocked my radeon to 321/363Mhz and it worked fine (no artefacts in
games) up till one day when I turned my pc on and saw black stripes going
from top to bottom of the screen. I rebooted the machine and everything is
fine again. I went back to the default values again in fear of...

Free Money!!! This Really Works!!! by
Free Money Guy!
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL!!!!!
You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it!!
Like most of us I was a little skeptical and little worried about the legal
aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the
U.S. Post Office (1-800-238-5355)
and they confirmed that it is indeed...

Usual limits of AGP/PCI bus overclock? by
Destroy
Unfortunately my VIA K8T800 MB chipset doesn't allow for AGP/PCI bus
locking.
I can run my system at 76AGP and 38PCI (229fsb) but it'll crash/lockup
after a 30 sec or so. 220 is stable all day.
Is there a general rule of thumb for the max or near unstable limits of
oc'ing the AGP/PCI bus or a way...

AI7, PWM and other dumbass questions by
Jootec from Mars
Hi,
Call me stupid but what the heck is the PWM? It's running at 71 degrees C
which is hot!
And I'm also assuming this. Whilst the fans on the PSU suck hot air out of
the case. Any other case fans suck room temperature air in?
Thanks in advance for answering my dumb questions. I've never had to...

Radeon 9600 atlantis modification by
gavin.mooney
I have a Sapphire radeon 9600 atlantis 256MB and I want to add an Arctic vga
cooler to it. One problem, this card has no fan power connector. Does anyone
know where I can hard wire the fan to the board? or an alternative solution
other than buying a new card?

DIMM or SDRAM DDR or PCxxxx? by
SomeOne
HI,
I'm confused: My Mobo requires Dual channel DIMM DDR400 or DIMM DDR333.
I've found that PC3200 means DDR400 and PC2700 means DDR333 but I usually
only find those offered as SDRAM.
Is SDRAM the same as DIMM?

NF7-S vs. AN7 by
SomeOne
While browsing the Abit site for the specs of their NF7-S I came across
the AN7. Overhere, in NL, the price-difference is just 10 Euros/Dollars.
On Overclockers.com the review on the AN7 sounds pretty nice. The AN7
seems to have mainly some improvements on where and how things are located
on the...

CPU Repair by
P2B
My 'gamble' arrived today: a P3-S 1.4Ghz CPU with a missing Vcore pin
purchased on eBay for the princely sum of $20 shipped (they usually go
for around $150 with all 370 pins).
I figured the CPU might work with one missing Vcore pin, but I suppose
the seller would have tried that. Didn't work.
It...

Help - 333FSB CPU in a 266FSB mobo by
Ben
Hi,
I have a Gigabyte 7-VRXP and I want to upgrade my Athlon 2000 to the fastest
cpu that will run in this motherboard.
The Gigabyte site says this is a thoroughbred core (266FSB) Athlon 2600XP,
but no-one seems to stock these anymore, not even the distributor. All the
333FSB cpus are listed as...

Which CPU? by
SomeOne
Hi,
This summer I want to start building a new PC. I am wondering which CPU to
select for this project.
I would like to use a CPU (AMD or Intel) with a clockspeed 2.5GHz.
Also I'd like to be able to significantly overclock the CPU.
Last time I checked (Dec-2003) I heard that AMD has locked their...

Biostar M6VLR by
Moderately Confused
Ok, so I know it's not the best board in the world, but its worked for me so
far, and its been pretty stable. I'm running a PIII 800 Mhz chip in it and
I've managed to get it to run stable at 915 Mhz. My question is, is there a
way to change the voltage with a Biostar mobo? I've been through all...
