Computer will not switch on by

Hi, I know this could be classed as OT but where else could I find such a
wealth of knowledge about PCs.
Anyhow a friend has a Packard Bell about 6 years old, on Sunday he put into
sleep mode and when we tried to restart it several hours later it was dead.
I checked the fuse in the power supply...

Blowing dust out of computer by
Davek
Is there something other than canned air to use to blow dust
from a computer? I was even thinking of using a small
vacuum cleaner that can be reversed to "blow" air. I keep
thinking there must be something out there.
TIA

Asus Gf4 4200ti vs. generic vs. Asus fx5200 by
Bob Knowlden
The FX5200 is a low-end DX9 card, but it may lack enough raw power to run
DX9 features.
The 4200 is from the previous generation; it's pretty fast (and sometimes
overclockable to near spec 4600 performance levels). It's DX8 only.
You don't mention your CPU/RAM, so I can't guess whether your card...

fans to 12v. This sped them up and cooled things down considerably, but
also increased the noise, so I've decided to install a fan control panel to
position the fan speeds where I want. When I'm listening to music I...

HP Computers. RAM by

Generally speaking, as long as you match the type correctly (PC100, PC133)
generic RAM will work just fine.
I used to work at Office Depot, and I sold many memory upgrades that worked
