New CPU Fan Prevents PC From Running by
Gary Brown
Hi,
A newly installed CPU heat sink and fan prevented my PC
from running. The PC started up then turned itself off after
a few seconds. The HSF appeared to be seated properly
with more than adequate heat sink compound. The heat
sink was considerably larger than its predecessor but no
shorts to...

One day when I came back to use the computer, which was switched on, I
kept pressing the keyboard but nothing came onto the monitor. I
switched off the power and switched on again, the screen came out for
a while, and went off again. So I decided to unplug the power plug of
the monitor and plug it...

Dual boot SP-3 & Vista by
daveiosys[_13_]
Running XP Professional SP-2.
Created second partition on hard drive to install Vista.
SP-3 just released.
Are there additional issues with SP-3 running a dualboot with Vista on
second partition?
Should I NOT upgrade to SP-3 given that SP-2 is working well before
installing Vista?

Max hardisk size by
Rajat
Hi,
I have a old computer configuration with Pentium 166 MMX and 6 GB of
hardisk.
This has not been of much use lately.
I was wondering if there is any limit on the size of the Hard disk
that can be attached to this. If I attach a recent 160GB hdd to this,
will it work?
Regards,

ASUS DVD-R/RW-- DVD's: "no disk" CD's: work fine by
Capin
This is a doozy. I don't know if anyone can even tell me what truly
happened or not. Here is my story:
I recently got a DVD/CD drive that worked perfectly fine... for a
while. I used it for some time and then one night we rented a movie
(Finding Neverland) and watched it on our TV's DVD player....

USB flash drive speeds by
[email protected]
I just got an 8 GB USB 2.0 flash drive, and I timed some file
transfers.
Small file test (photos ranging from 100K to 4 MB):
- I copied 1.9 GB worth of photos from my HD to the flash drive, and
it took 25 minutes. That's about 1.3 MB/sec.
- Then I copied all 1.9 GB worth of photos from the flash...
