900 MB CDR's & Lite On 48125s by Jon
I bought some 900MB CDR's today. I thought, cool, I'll burn a load of data on one of those today. Apparently though, my burner can't handle them. Is there someplace out there that I can find out what burners can handle them properly? Thanks, Jon.

99 min cdr worth the risk? by Trucking
I'm a newbie when it comes to cdr. From reading the faqs, guides, and googled around, I found that the 90/99 min cdr aren't supported by all cdrom. It could write on my burner but it's not guaranteed to be read by other cdrom drive. From the faq I've read, it said 80 min cdr should be safe. The...

? on new Sony USB DVD writer by Scott
I bought a new sony usb dvd writer (DRX820U). The only program that will recognize this drive is the bundled software (Nero 6.6). For example I can't get Burn-at-Once to recognize. Don't dvd writers have a standard interface that allows any burning software to recognize the drive? Also I...

A bit off topic but anyone using a simple solution to capture TV stuff and then burning to SVCD ? by [email protected]
Ive tried Power VCR , WIN DVR and WIN VDR and Virtual Dub and some other stuff. The thing is Power VCR doesnt have 480x480 and its output wont load into TMPGEnc. Theres a hack to save it to 480x480 but it still wont load into TMPGenc and the pic quality is horrible until youget to 640x480 mpeg2...

A data CD I burn't freezes the computer. by half_pint
Usually when burning data CD's I eject the disk and then re-read it to ensure "it works OK" before I delete the files from my computer. Anyway I added a extra file to an almost full CD and when I tried to re-read it it 'froze' my computer, requiring a reboot. I have tried to read the CD several...

A decent protective CD Wallet (high on efficiency, low on bling?) Is that too much to ask? by NewAdmin
I have the perfect CD wallet at home. I did not buy it at a fancy store (I wish I remembered where I did) It consists of a simple, plastic standard size looseleaf plastic binder. And what look like refillable pages that carry 4 cds in a square on each side. Also, there is an extra flap on the top...

A DVD question by [email protected]
I recently purchased a DVD disk with an instruction manual on it. I realize that I could view the information on the DVD disk with my computer if I had a DVD reader installed. My question is: Can such a data DVD be viewed by a DVD player normally attached to a TV? I suspect not, but I just...

A little Taiyo Yuden variance - nothing to worry about, right? by R. Paul Martin
I've taken delivery of some new TY spindles. Using both CDRIdentifier and CDRDAO I've gotten the following ATIP readouts: Old TYs that I've used: 702.83; 76m 59s 73f; 359848 New TYs that I just got: 702.83; 79m 59s 72f; 359847 So one frame/one block isn't anything to worry about, right?...

A Message to SMH by Mike Powers
I recognize that you have problems with Mike Richter. I will even say that your advice to help people is better than his. I posted a request for help a few years back and Mike's response was idiotic. I don't even think he read the post completely. That being said...this is only about CDR software....
