Plextools Professional by
Folk
I purchased a Plextor 48/24/48A on 6/1/03. In the reviews I had read,
I was lead to believe that Plextools Professional was bundled with
the product. Later, I realized that Plextools was only bundled in
products sold in Europe.
I would like the functionality built into Plextools, so I...

Future burners? by
Dan G
The next developments will be mostly in Serial-ATA burners and increased RW
speeds. A larger buffer is pretty useless, 2MB is plenty with current
under-run protections. The LiteOn 52246S produces equal or higher quality
burns than the Plextor, and does it on a wider range of media and at...

Nero File browser preferences by
Gunnar Skinder
Hello newsgroup
I recently upgraded my good old Nero 4.0x to Nero 6.x..
In ver. 6 the file browser works more like Windows' own file browser, with
that i mean that it's capable to move and dele files and folders, and i
don't like that. If you drag a folder from the browser tree to the
compilation...

Stupid question time by
Bob H
Ok, sorry if this has been asked before, and I know it is a stupid
question, but I have to ask as I have a senior moment here.
Is a *.iso file burnt onto a CDR automatically bootable, or should it be
burn as a bootable CDR?
Thanks

MP9 write speed, TDK CD-Rs by
Richard
Though I'd contribute recent experience resolving quality issues with audio
CD-Rs.
I was having quality problems with audio CD-Rs in a new 6 CD changer
(Honda). The first 6-8 tracks played fine but then starting skipping,
popping and fading out. The last tracks were always unlistenable. ...

Lite-On 24102B CDRW drive software. by
half_pint
Lite-On 24102B CDRW drive software.
I got one of these drives as I though it would work with
my old adaptec software (its is a listed drive on the roxio site)
but it won't work, I also tried it with a pirated copy of Roxio ezcd 5.0?
but that would not recognise the drive either.
Is there a version...

Finally, an answer from Ahead Nero 6 Plugins (I think!) by
Guess Who
I was questioning whether or not the unlimited DVD and MPEG4 plugins were
included with the Nero 6 upgrade. Ahead finally answered me, at least I
think they did!

Windows XP "not" recognizing new CDROM Volume after swap by
Hugh Johnson
I am having a problem with my Windows XP Pro install. It has become
more apparent after installing several programs that use multiple
CDROMS to install.
Most multiple CD installs use the volume label of the CD to determine
if the disks were swapped. When I swap disks, say from Disk 1 to disk

CDR Longevity by
jason
Is there a rule of thumb as to how long a music CD-R might last that
hasn't been subjected to any kind of "abuse" (scratches, extreme temps,
direct sunlight,chemicals,etc)?
I've read that CD-Rs do have a finite lifespan.If this is true,what
signs (if any)
are there that one has started to...

Burn multiple CDs to one CD? by
somexyzguy
I had a friend tell me that he's seen people use some software that has
such amazing compression that it allows you to burn something like 6 CDs on
to one.
Does anybody know what software he is referring to? Does it even exist?
Thanks

frustration setting in by
TrevorVA
Well, I'm fed up with trying to burn a vcd. I encoded the original .avi file
using TMPGEnc to mpeg1 standard vcd. = no problems. Using TMPGEnc again, I
split the .mpg into two more-or-less equal sizes to make the movie fit on to
two cd's. = no problems. Then the troubles started.
Using Nero 5.5 to...

Feedback on WriteCD-RW! needed by
EmonyDax
I've got that same problem that a lot of folks do, in that my data backups
from Win98 (packet CD) won't read on my current WinXP system.
My system has Sonic RecordNow. I'm giving serious consideration to
purchasing WriteCD-RW Professional Version because they advertise an easy
drag and drop...

No Session-at-once on 90 min CDR's??? by
SleeperMan
My friend asked me yesterday about this problem: He put in blank 90 min CDR,
started multisession disc, inserted a few files, hit burn and Nero said
error:" this disc can't be burned in session at once mode - do you want to
burn it in disc at once and close disc?"
Is it CDR's fault? (He didn't have...
