Viewing CDFreaks reviews offline by
Allen Weiner
I would like to save some CDFreaks burner reviews to my hard disk and view
them offline. The reviews are multi-page. I don't see a way of saving these
multi-page reviews in a single-page printer friendly format. Each review
page has a "print" button, but it only formats the currently viewed page...

Mitsui & Taiyo Yuden CD-R blanks still the best? by
[email protected]
Years ago when I was buying blank CD-R's, I wanted to buy only the
highest quality brands that were especially believed to last
significantly longer than other ones that were known to become
degraded eventually over the years. Back then, the brands that seemed
to have the best reputations were...

r3ts3j
I bought a I/O Magic Internal 8X DVD±RW/±R Dual Format Drive Model
IDVDRW8D a few weeks back and my dvd burning was going great. I used
different programs (with exception of the pinnacle crap that came
with it) and they all worked great. Then one day my dvd's all started
looking like crap. they...

Where can I get a cheap low-power amplifier? by
[email protected]
Where can I get a cheap low-power amplifier?
http://www.markvelectronics.com/store
There are very few available. One source is to buy a cheap boom
box and only use the amplifier. Another source is Radio Shack.
A third alternative is to buy a car stereo booster and get a
12V power supply for...

variable exrtaction speed again by
Peter Huish
Just to follow up on my previous post regarding the variable extraction
speed I am getting on my ASUS CRW-5232AS. The suggested solution was
that I install the Nero APSI layer. I have done that and there is no
apparent difference with the behaviour ...
With the same disk:
If I extract it from...

Sony¹s Double Layer DVD+RW Drive (DRU-700A) by
X
What does everyone think of this drive?
When is Plextor going to release a drive like this? After all, they are a
much better company when it comes to producing high quality burners.

Recovery Software for DirectCD CDRs? by
A Person
I have written about this problem before. I have a large stack of
CDRs written with DirectCD. WindowsXP cannot read them at all, either
by itself or with the Roxio UDF reader installed.
I have a Windows 98 computer with DirectCD installed and have had
limited success reading some of these...

artec 52x drive and/o BackUpMyPc by
Phil
I ran backupmypc by Veritas with my Sony USB 6x4x6 without problems.
Now upgrading to an internal CDR, ARTEC CDRW52x24x52 , I get
intermittent disk damage, usually after one or two backups.
Any take on this. Artec support had me delete all drivers for CDR and
CDROMS but I run backups so seldom I...

Audio CD-RWs? by
Nikos Chantziaras
I just burned a CD-RW medium as an Audio CD. Yes, I know that they can't be
used on CD players. But I thought that playing them back on the PC's CD-ROM
drive would be OK. Well, it isn't. My question is simple: Why is that?
Not even the drive I used for burning is able to play it back.
Note: It...

How does Nero OEM tell what drive you have? by
Chip
I am told that Nero OEM only works with the drive it was sold with.
But I have flashed my MSI CR32-A2 with Optorite CW5205 firmware, so the
drive is - in effect - now an Optorite drive. It shows up as such in
Windows, CDSpeed, Infotool, Sandra, etc etc.
But Nero Burning Rom still works! I would...
