FX5200, should it be this bad? by Red Activist
I recently made a P4 3.0 computer, the place was out of 5700 ultras so I got a Geforce FX5200 128mb, I figured it would still be on a par or better than the 2 year old TI 4200 I had in the previous system. Imagine my surprise to see GTA3(old game with a 700mhz + 16mb D3D card recommended) running...

Still no gameplay. Could this be the problem? by Ferrante
I recently purchased a new GeForce FX5200 in hopes of getting a game to run. No luck. I meet the minimum requirements for the game (I have a Pentium II, 400, 384 megs ram, small 6 gig HD) , so at the very least the game should run, even though it may be slow. I make sure the have the latest drivers...

OpenGL Application: FrameNumber for examining display monitors ! by skybuck2000
Hello, Today I wrote a simple Microsoft Windows opengl 3.0 application for inspecting frame numbers, frames per second. I was wondering if maybe monitors drop frames like internet packets, maybe as a way to cheat. So far I also recorded some high speed camera footage with powershot hs sx50 or...

A possible solution to the halting problem. by skybuck2000
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeQX2HjkcNo After watching this video the conclusion may be the following: 1. Contradictions are a problem in math. 2. These contradictions seemed to be caused by "self-references". A possible solution to these problems are to:

Downside of changing "Max frames to render ahead"/"Prerender Limit" to 1/0? by Jeremy Reaban
I just got Oblivion, and one of the listed tweaks to make it run better is to change the Max frames to render ahead (or Prerender limit in Riva Tuner) from the default of 3 to 1 or 0. So I tried it. And it indeed appears to give the FPS a pretty sizeable boost, from about 30 FPS to around...

Battlefield 3 not working on AMD x2 3800+ and GT520 ? (Web crap) by Skybuck Flying[_7_]
Hello, It seems Battlefield 3 has devolved into web-crap. Battlefield 2 already had a bad/slow game browser, but Battlefield 3 seems to be simply ridicilous. The game doesn't even start so I have no idea if it's working. It's also impossible to start your own server so it's mostly all full.

OpenGL driver loading abnoxiously slow. (Toshiba laptop L670 2012/Intel/AMD/RadeON) by skybuck2000
For some reason on the toshiba laptop from 2012 the opengl driver loads very slowly. (Toshiba laptop L670 2012/Intel/AMD/RadeON) So slow that I believed the application "frooze/hang" but this is not the cause. Possible causes: 1. I "hacked" the driver version number to try and make Star War...

When will buying games be cheaper and better than pirating games. by Skybuck Flying
Some things to keep in mind: 1. When games cost less than one euro it becomes more interesting to simply buy the cd or dvd, because downloading would require more money for electricity. 2. When buying games there is still the problem of requiring the cd or dvd in the drive, possibly damaging...
