application servers on a gig switched network, to an LTO library?
Any thoughts on it?
We currently use Arcserve, we're replacing a bunch of kit and Dell now
offer Galaxy, we had their rep in to see us and it looks like a...

Suggestions for planned bonnie++ benchmark by
Jochen Kaiser
Dear all,
I've posted some time ago and reported problems with latency on our SAN.
We've come to the conclusion that we've to run a benchmark, we've
suggested bonnie++ and our Datacenter has welcomed that idea.
We mainly host DB2 Databases on the SAN and have an application which
writes (and...

Suggestions on data replication by
Rob Turk
For a Windows-only site with a couple of Win2K clusters, SQL, Exchange,
Citrix, and IIS I'm looking to build an overview of viable ways of real-time
or near real-time replication of data to a remote site. No access to raw
fibre, just TCP/IP with decent bandwidth (30-50Mbit/s dedicated).
I'd like...

Does anyone in the group know of any documented limitation regarding
the manimum number of paths per device that can be managed by MPxIO.
If a SAN storage controller failure occurs it might be that 8 of 16
paths to a device will fail. Is there any scenario where I/O retry
count could be used up...
