Compaq laptop, no response from dc power by
Mel
Hey everybody,
I've got a compaq laptop that's been having problems with the charger.
I'm pretty sure its the connection port on the laptop itself that's
the problem. When I would be using the laptop on dc power, I noticed
that the computer would go back and forth between batter and charging,
so I...

Partition File Structure Recovery: NTFS Partition by
[email protected]
I recently destroyed my file structure due to mistakenly writing a
partition table to the wrong hard disk drive on my machine while
installing an experimental version of OS X. The saving factor is that
the partition that may have formatted was only 20GB out of 200GB and
the rest was unallocated...

Old monitor is fuzzy around edges by
Random Person
Hi guys. I've got an old Dell E770P CRT monitor (about 5 years) that
I'm currently using...as my main PC at home is busy with work. The
central part of the screen is still sharp but its edges are blurry.
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I tried degaussing it
but it doesn't help. I'm...

Hello, All,
You guys have all been so willing to help that I feel morally bound to let
you know the solution to my no-sound problem.

always worked with the old motherboard. This time, with the new motherboard,
it...

Voltage Selection for System ROM by
emc
I'm in the process of putting together a P3 cpu with a 440BX chipset MB. The
manual gives an option for a the System ROM (Flash EPROM), 5V or 12V. Which
setting should be selected? The manual does not suggest either one.
Any thoughts on the matter would certainly be appreciated.

I'm stumped - User's PC POSTs slow at his desk but works fine on my table by
Josh T
Hi,
I have a user's PC that was having issues (slowed down to the point of not
being able to keep network connections up), so I rebooted it and it POSTed
ridiculously slow - it hung on the "blinking cursor" normally on screen
for a split second between the VGA BIOS Splash Screen and the MB...

Failed Ethernet recognized by Window? by
Derek Baker
My router stopped working recently. Having one of the same type fail

However today I received the new router and found it showed exactly the same
problem. Finally I dug out an old network card; lo and behold not only the
new...

Removing USB causes PC Crash (BSOD) by
My View
This problem has been posted to a number of forums and newsgroups but as
yet no-one has found a solution.
My feeling is that SP2 install causes this but you might have a better idea.
This problem occurred with an old harddrive and also has now occurred after
installing a new harddrive and a new...

Wondering if people in this group have experience with both NVIDIA Quadro

system that produces 4-channel multimedia output (MPEG-2 mostly). I have
it with NVIDIA Quadro NVS (16Mb RAM per channel) currently, but...

One of my clients has a 21" flat panel APPLE monitor. It has a single DVI

This is the first monitor I've seen that draws it's power through the DVI
