DP35DP, no fan control, BIOS options not showing? by
John Doe
I updated the BIOS to version 413. Don't know about the prior version,
but the updated version does not show fan speed control options. So the
fan is running at about 1000 rpm without variation.
In Advanced -- Boot Configuration
there are only three switches.
Numlock
Max CPUID
Display Setup...

mainboard DP35DP onboard sound and maybe video card problems by
John Doe
My DP35DP onboard sound is not working. Any common leads? Possible
BIOS settings? Is there an onboard sound driver? Didn't find one on
the Intel mainboard page.
The mainboard seems to work otherwise. A few times, on startup the
desktop background has shown without the desktop icons and taskbar...

services.exe gone wild by
cew
This is probably not the right place to ask, but the W2K group is pretty inactive --
In Task Manager, under Processes, there is a permanent process called services.exe.
Up until about 2 months ago, I never paid any attention to it at all, and ACPI S3 standby was
working perfectly.
Then I...

Desktop utiities: thermal margin of 60 degrees Centigrade by
Ken[_8_]
I built a new system with an E8400 cpu with an Intel DP35DP board. When
I installed Desktop Utilities, it displays the processor temperature as
a thermal margin, in this case, 60 degrees centigrade.
I assume this is a pretty good margin of safety, IF the measurement is
correct. How does this...

What are the current CPUs?? by
Somebody
Wow, Intel is really pulling the Microsoft style "lets confuse the consumers
with 10,000 variants of CPUs" :).
Whats the current line of CPU cores? Is that the Wolfdale Core 2 Duo's?
Is there something else coming out "soon"? or would that be good to go for
the next while?
The E8400 would be...

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang Opens A Can of Words on Intel by
NV55
http://tinyurl.com/3htnuq
I've never heard Jen-Hsun go on about Intel like that in a conference
call before.
He must truly be worried about Intel's upcoming Larrabee
architecture.
I think Larrabee scares the living **** out of him.

Memory for BOXDP35DPM LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX by

I plan to use a Core 2 Duo processor with this board and would like some
info about the memory to choose. Does the memory depend on the

Quad core processor at some point, would I need different memory?
I am thinking about...
