Windows ROM?????? by
whatnext
Does anyone know about technology to put the Windows OS on a ROM chip.
Perhaps it could be the return of cartridges. I would imagine they
would need at least 1 gigabyte ROM. How close are we to the technology
to do this?

Another interesting...

Wiping a dead hard drive. by
MF
Hi, all
Anyone know a practical, effective way to erase a hard drive that is deader
than a brick?
It's a West. Digital 60 gig 7200 RPM.
It won't spin up and WD's diagnostic utilities won't recognize it. It went
out a few days before the warranty expired and I want to try to return it,
but it...

Hi,
my NTL telephone modem (in UK) promotes an IP to the Wireless Access
point (DLink DWL 2000 AP). This is supposed to generate subnet IP
numbers, which are picked up by the clients. BUT ...
IF the AP is configured as DHCP server, then it ONLY uses the standard
IP number which previously was...

Wireless Ethernet Problem by

I have a Toshiba laptop with a built-in ethernet adapter.
However, I disliked all the wires, so since a relative of
mine had an extra Linksys wireless card that plugs in the
side (PCMCIA ports, I believe they're called). Anyway, I cannot
seem to get that to work AT ALL! I'm sure the card is
fine,...
