Multi microsd reader by acd
micro-SD are one of the most economical and compact flash media. I wonder if there are adapters to connect many of them in a compact format, say 32,64 or more. This would represent a scalable SSD building block. Andreas

Maximum number of disk in RAID5 / RAID50, best practices? by Benno
Dear group, we're in the very, very, very early stages of looking at iSCSI SAN. We've seen the SUN 7210 that can be configured with 48 250GB SATA disks. Two are used for OS. How would one configure the remaining disks? If using RIAD50, how many disks can/would you use per RAID5 group? Thanks.

Where is Storage Computer (SOS, RAID-7, Goodlander) now ? by _firstname_@lr_dot_los-gatos_dot_ca_dot_us
Anyone remember "Storage Computer Corporation"? They had the unforgettable stock ticker symbol SOS, owned the domain name storage.com, sold RAID-7 disk arrays (which turned out to be RAID-4 with a write cache, and got the RAB all hot and bothered), and were owned/operated by Theodore (Ted)...

Firefox palaa sivun yläreunaan, mikä rikki? by Kaapo Tikka

Data backup ideas needed by CraigRobRunner
I need to start taking more precautions when backing up my data. What about an 'online backup solution' (http://www.backupright.com) What about 'tape disk backup' (http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/storage) Or an 'SAN' (http://www.compellent.com/Products.aspx)

DS4500 Issues after Power cycle (link status going up/downrepeatedly) by [email protected]
I recently had to powercycle our DS4500 SAN unit. When it came up it went through the normal checks and such, but the link lights on the mini-hubs never stopped blinking. What I am seeing now, both on the clients (a cluster of AIX systems) and on the storage manager is that all of the links are...

Nokia PC Suite 6.x by Esko Karhu

Logical SAN by [email protected]
I have a Solaris 10 system (x86) connected to an external usb drive, I'd like to play around with SAN stuff(learn SAN), is there a way to carve up a virtual SAN on this external drive? I'm trying to figure out an inexpensive(hence usb external drive) way to create a "logical SAN", I guess some way...
