Idle temps for 2.4c by
jester_s1
I just built two computers for my church's office, and am wondering if
the coolers are working properly. One CPU is running in the 90'sF, the
other around 110 degrees. This is before any software install- I was
just in the bios to set up boot devices.
Is this a normal temp, or is something wrong? I...

Voided Warranties, Huh? by
Generalissimo Francisco Franco
Everything related to overclocking has plenty of disclaimers about how as
soon as you overclock, your manufacturer's warranty is voided. We've got
legalese warnings even on the amature 'how to' sites.
My question: How on earth would the manufacturer know that a particular
piece of hardware had...

what degree can i crank-up the core voltage without frying the damn thing in
the near future? Tom says 10 to 15 %, that would be 1.725v, but i read much

northwood for prescott by

I've decided that the heat issues associated with my 3E Prescott is not
worth the hassle. I can't run the Prescott in my case without the damn cpu
freezing my system up after 10 minutes of use...never mind overclocked. So,
I found a 3C (used) and I'm trading down...up? Whatever...
What kind of...

So I built this machine for a friend. He wanted an Asus MB & a P4-3.2 blah
blah blah.....
He selected a nice looking but cheap case with front USB, Audio, & Firewire.
I told him that...

Intel Is Not Cutting Off The Prescott by
Dennis E Strausser Jr
The day in the Life of the Socket 478 mPGA
Is almost over, Intel is going to make a few more, but they couldn't tell
me when.
They could only tell me that they will be stopping making the Socket 478.
They also acted surprised when I asked.
" I heard that you were soon going to cut off making the...

Hello.
I don't know whether this is the correct group to post to.
But I decided to use the 'torture test' of the program Prime95 to test the
stability of a computer but it doesn't get past the first test. It doesn't
fail. It just doesn't do anything. It says it's working through Test 1 but
it never...
