normal. I have tried increasing the voltage by .1 volts, but nothing
happens. I'm only increasing the clock speed from 266 to 280.
I have a C2D E6400 Cpu on a...

Running E6600 at 3.6ghz now takes less voltage? by
Ed Medlin
I decided to keep my E6600 on a Striker Extreme 680i MB at 3.6ghz at
1.6v and after a week or so running perfectly stable, I decided to try and
lower the voltage a bit. I was able to first drop it to 1.55v and now to
1.52v and it is staying stable. When I first got it up to this speed,
nothing...

P5B-E Vcore by
Lowly Engineer
I have a 6850 in an ASUS P5B-E. I haven't messed around with it too
much but it is stable at 3.825 GHz.
In BIOS, I have Vcore set to 'AUTO'. CPU-Z reports the voltage as
1.225, while ASUS probe reports it at 1.54V.
Which is correct?
TIA

Problem with P5B and Q6600 CPU by
Andreas Schwartmann[_2_]
Hi,
today I replaced my old Core2Duo E6600 with a new quad core Q6600 CPU
(B3 stepping).
After switching CPUs, I find, that my P5B board (with BIOS 1604) does
not accept my manuel vcore settings anymore. Whatever I set it to, it
will stay at 1.2 v.

Ping_Phil W. Striker Extreme OC by
Ed Medlin
Finally got around to OC'ing this thing. I notice one thing right away,
and that is the cooler MB/NB temps. The board comes with a small fan for
cooling the NB HS that clips right on. It is silent so no noise problems.
The manual says you only need it for water cooling, but I would use it...

Q6600 - danger? by
Ronny Mandal
Hello.
Just some questions, might sound stupid to some of you, but:
I have a Q6600 on P5K @ 2.40 GHz. Just bought OCZ ram - PC9200, max
freq is 1150 MHz. To get them running at this speed, I had to set the
FSB to 288 (was 266) and the mutliplier to 9 (1152 MHz). But the
processor speed also...

Something I bet no one considers by

Well - I don't know...maybe - I know I didn't until I started thinking about what people say about
overclocking and how it causes damage, no matter how much or how little...Got that from ThunDA's
AMD Overclocking Guide
In my case, my system is actually powered down about 80% of the time...

Q6600 good deal? by
peter
Core 2 quad Q6600 sells for under $280. Does that make it the best
overclockable CPU deal?
Normally, you have to pay more than double in order to double the
performance. In this case, is Q6600 equal to two core 2 duo E6600s but the
price is only 1.5x of an E6600?
