H.W. Stockman
I have a Pioneer DVR-105, win98se. The drive came with a crippled version of
Roxio, with an offer for an upgrade. I connected to upgrad as per link, and was
informed I had no choice but VDCreator 6, with Drag-to-disc. I have updated to
the latest Pioneer firmware
This is the 8th system I on...

Please help - Exact Audio Copy can't detect my CD drives by
Lee
I've been using Exact Audio Copy (Version 0.95) exclusively for ripping
CD's to the hard-drive of my PC for a couple years or so now without
any significant problems - until yesterday. Yesterday I began ripping
a CD-R to my PC's hard-drive as usual, then left it unattended for a
few minutes. Upon...

Nero 6.6 or Creator 7.5 or RecordNow DX 7.3 by
Rana Ahmed
Hi,
Which one of these three will you guys recommend. I already have
MovieFactory to handle DVD creation. What I need is a solid CD/DVD
burning software as well as a solid software to backup/restore WinXP Pro
system. Another thing that I prefer is to successfully create bootable
CD (eg Win XP with...

Kinds of CD by
Richard
Hi. If I choose a file or files on my HDD, and make an audio CD, I am I
believe burning CDA files onto my CD. So, a CD with CDA files is an audio
CD. Correct?
But, what if I want to choose to burn an MP3 file or files onto my CD, what
kind of CD am I making then?
And, with NERO 5, how do I do...

PING: Mike Ricter: DVD designations by
Don.
Mike, do you have a good link that explains all the virtues, etc. of the
various DVD terms? So far I've found that DVD-RW doesn't need to be
formatted before writing. I use DVD+R for my monthly system backups.
I'm using HotBurnPro, both for software and their burner/reader. The
unit can deal with...

Disc identification by
Ulrich Prinz
Hi!
I need to identify a Disc by any data. The important thing is that it
should go fast. So as different types of disys are to be handled
differently I need something that is easy and reliable.
For CD-ROM and DVD-ROM I found no fast way of identifying them. May be I
build a checksum over the...

SCSI DVD-RAM Drives by
Andy Ball
I've tried Google without much luck.
Does anyone still make SCSI DVD-RAM drives? I don't mind
caddy, tray or slot-load. Failing that, are there any
discontinued models that people could recommend? Any brands
to avoid?

DVD Burner Problem (OT) by
Dave Reid
I know this is slightly off topic, but thought someone my be able to shed
some light for me.
I got a new Pioneer DV-R 109 dual layer yesterday (for my b/day) and
installed it, in place of my old TEAC CD-R, alongside my Pioneer DV-R 107D.
I installed the 109 as the slave and the old 107 as...

Lite_on Firmware Problem by

It seems like my 1-1/2 year old Lite-On LTR-52327S has a firmware problem.
I use Click'N Burn to record both music and data CDs. OS is Windoze 98SE.
Lite-On firmware was "QS06", then upgraded to "QS0E".
Until recently, I could select the desired writing speed within CNB. I
believe that the...
