Pentium D overheat by
Ken
I have a one day old Pentium D 820/2.8 GHZ (D945G motherboard). The
hardware report in BIOS and the desktop software both report processor
zone overheating. The BIOS reports up to 90C, the desktop software up
to 76C. Are these temp reporting processes know to be accurate?
Anywhere I can look for...

Mixing memories of different latencies by
WahJava
Hi gurus,

latencies RAMs in same channel. (3-3-3-8 in Channel A and 3-4-4-8 in
Channel B). If...

Xeon MP in a Dual Board - will it work? by
Webdoc
Hi there,
Very simple Question. These days MP chips are becoming quite cheap on eBay
and I am thinking about buying
2x 2GHz MP with 1MB L3
or
2x 2GHz DP
being the server whacko I am, I would rather buy the MP chips, but cant seem
to find a decisive answer on whether it will work or not. I guess...

Pentium D 820 in certains boards by
Neil Barras
Hi,
I'm looking to go Dual Core in the next month or two. I have decided to go
Asus on the Mainboard side of things, but their site makes me a bit cautious
when buying the Board and CPU.
I have heard that the D will only run on 945 and 955 chipsets, but on the
Asus cpu support pages, it claims...

RAID5 Initializing Parity by
Seth Gecko
Hi
I recently built myself a new PC and decided to go RAID5.
Everythings great but today my PC did not want to come out of standby so I
hit the reset
button and reboot.
It then takes about 8 hours while it goes through an "Initializing Parity"
proceedure,
whilst obviously degrading my...

Intel D845GVSRL: CPU Fan Speed by
Jody
Where does it show the cpu fan speed in the bios?
I've installed active monitor on this motherboard, and it fails to find the
cpu fan as well.
CPU fan definitely hooked up correctly and working. Searched bios for like
15 minutes for the speed!
I have a case with one of those cpu-wind-tunnels, and...

did AMD write wikipedia's hyperthreading article? by
Beemer Biker
With all controversy over wikipedia using anonymous contributors
http://tinyurl.com/csbz8 who provide false information, I was wondering who
wrote the following article on hypertheading. Certainly, Intel would not
author this section...

Hi,
I found some utilites to create custom boot logo's but I need to flash

BTX dead? by
tony
Given that Intel has finally realized that hot processors suck, doesn't
that take most of the relevance of BTX away? With decent CPUs,
the current crop of motherboards and cases is almost adequate (hardly
any provide decent hard drive cooling, so that's why I say 'almost').
Get some airflow across...
