Still haven't found a Socket 479 heatsink/fan by Johannes
I bought the Aopen model from Komplet. Unfortunately, it's the larger form factor with ~52mm between holes on the motherboard. I need the MiniATX form factor with ~40mm between holes in the motherboard. Mini-itx sells an U1 half height CoolerMaster heatsink, but that has the thermal performance of...

Anyone recommend a laptop repairer ? by The Brave Sir Robin
I've got a Sony VAIO laptop which is out of warranty. It looks as though one of the lid hinges has gone, the result being that when the lid moves, the screen gets corrupted. I'm looking for a laptop repairer with a good reputation and reasonable prices. It would be even nicer if they were in the...

They get everywhere... by Dr Teeth
I shall spare the shame of the retailer in question. Q: When do you expect to be getting stock of 8x +RW media? A: We only sell 4x at the present. Duh, wonder why I asked the question in the first place. -- Cheers,

Does Dell make its own motherboards? by Charles Bronson
If you want a GOOD computer, assembly one your own. If you want a regular generic computer with low life spam, buy one from dell or compac or any damn griffe. "Lem" escreveu na mensagem ... Do all Dell PCs (for the UK market) come with Dell's...

PC3500 RAM on a DDR 400 board by steeler
Am I right in thinking that PC3500 will go fin on a DDR400 rated board such as those based around the springdale or canderwood chipsets. These all send to advertise PC2700/3000/3200 compatability but I assume PC3500 will just run fine at stock PC3200 speeds without overclocking?

S.Chang wrote: No e-mail reply from their customer service and no one answering the phone, but the sales line seems always open. I ordered a custom-built system from Aria two weeks ago. Still no sign, even though it seemed everything was 'in stock at the time'. This is a little irritating...

eBuyer.co.uk have trebled some of their prices in the space of amonth. by Paul Butterfield
For example check out item 63967. A computer case that cost me £6.99 a month ago (December 2004) now costs: $17.99. I believe they read the reviews on their web site and if a product gets good feed back they up the price. What would be the e-mail address of ebuy.co.uk to question them...

Sapphire Systems - result at last by David Dickinson
Credit where it's due... after not hearing anything for ages, Sapphire Systems has replied with an apology, and sent a refund for the order that never arrived. Nice to know there's still some companies out there that can manage to sort things out. David.

Dabs: selling customer details? by ric
Hi All, Just had a call on my office number from O2 (as in BT cellnet) attempting to sell me corporate mobiles. When I asked where they'd got my number from, they said "Dabs Data". Not endearing me to Dabs, this, as I'm pretty sure that I unticked the "deluge me with spam and phone calls" option...
