Zero dead/stuck pixel guarantee - TFT monitors? by
Tim S
Hi
Anyone know where/how to get a zero dead/stuck pixel guarantee on a 19-20"
TFT in England?
Samsung have just told me that they adhere to 13406-2 Class 2 which is
several (4 or 6 typically) broken pixels, despite rumours to the contary on
the net.
I'm after ISO Class 1, zero defects.

a WOW for Citylink (and CCL) by
ComPCs
I ordered quite a large order from CCL - not the first time - for which
I duly paid a premium for pre-9am delivery.
At 9:00, the delivery hadn't arrived, so I prepared my premises for lock
up as I had to go for an appointment with a customer. I also fired off a
quick email to CCL to say "failed...

Faulty goods .... return postage? by
Tx2
I've had to return faulty goods to CCL.
I informed them of the fault within 30 days, but due to commitments, wasn't
able to send the package back for a further four days, which took me outside
of the 30 day period that is specified here ...

ARIA claiming they haven't received my return? by
sjcat
I'm guessing this newsgroup is for people to post their tales of woe
about lack of CS from UK computer vendors. So here we go:
Does this scenario sound familiar to anyone?
I purchased a Dell 19" Monitor on ARIA (www.aria.co.uk), 31st May (a
holiday Monday in the UK).
Turns out in my enthusiasm I...

Aria - advice re postage refund (dodgy practice) by
Mark
Hi all,
I am currently having a problem with Aria. I bought an mp3 player from them.
It was physically damaged when received. They have accepted the return, and
refunded the cost of the player. However, they are insisting that it is not
their policy to refund the postage which I originally paid to...

Dabs - How to provoke a response?! by
Martin
You find out how good a retailer is when things start to go wrong.
I ordered a nvidia 6800GT on 8 September. Stock levels were showing they
were due in 5-7 days.
Long story short, my order status changed on 22 September, showing 'awaiting
packing'. Overall status now shows 'completed'. The same...

Time Computer without an XP disk. by
Derek F.
A neighbour bought a Time Computer from The Computer Shop. Looking at what
she had been given I found that she had not been given a Windows XP disk for
the system which had been pre loaded. She had been sold a Bronze support
package which contained a support disk. Is this a reinstall disk for...

Dixons - APPALLING delivery/after-sales service!! (or complete lack of...) by
MSK
I've read many bad reports about certain vendors I've dealt with
myself in the past but none have proved as awful as Dixons. You would
expect better than average service from such a huge vendor but they
really are an utter disgrace.
Basically, I ordered one of the Fuji Digi-cams Dixons had on sale...

Overclocker's criticised on The Inquirer by

A pretty well-written piece, I thought. Sadly, his criticisms are true

Scan returned item - Not Found Faulty (NFF) :( by
Anton Gysen
Last week I returned a stick of memory to Scan which didn't run at its
rated speed (DDR333 speeds). However, the stick worked fine at a lower
speed (the equivalent of DDR250 - before you have a go at me I _know_
there's no such thing) when I'd changed the CPU:memory ratio in my BIOS.
I sent the...
