Upgrading from 2.4 to 3.06 on 4550? by
MStepansky
1) Is it possible for me to upgrade from P4 2.4 Ghz (533 Mhz FSB) to a regular
P4 3.06 Ghz (without Hyperthreading features), using this same original
motherboard?
2) Alternatively, how do I get P4 3.06 Ghz, with Hyperthreading working, in my
Dell 4550? Do I need to remove the whole motherboard...

Ok, after i format my hard drive on my 4600 system, can someone tell me how
to reinstall the software back on my system.
Danford, first read the section in your 4600 manual. I actually have an 8300,
but in the manual is a pretty good section on reinstalling Win XP. First you
need to do a...

batteries for LOGITECH wireless mouse and/or keyboard by

That's about what I get.
I tried some of the rechargables and only got about a month and half
or less out of them. They seemed to fail real fast once they got low.
When they go dead you have to stop what ever your are doing and change
them, a real painb sometimes.
I get a "brick", about 24...

Dell 4600 - E171FPb brightness problem? by
Bernie
I just purchased a Dell 4600 and upgraded to the E171FPb flat panel
display. The display looks great except that the top of the screen is
somewhat dimmer than the bottom of the screen. I've tried all different
angles and heights, and still the top of the screen is (slightly) darker
than the...

During the recent heat wave here in NY, my Dell's Fan was making so much
noise I thought I was going to have a hard drive failure so I backed

I've been getting this message intermittently on cold boots over the last

more than 512MB SDRAM in DIM PII? by

I've got a Dimension XPS-R450 that I'm using for
a lot of compiling and server software development.
(No, I'm not using it as a server.) It has the A13
BIOS, and I want to expand the memory beyond
its current 384MB. I've read that it will take and
use 512MB. I've also read varying opinions...

With the good rebates on 120 GB drives, I decided to get one and use it as my

since the price on the 120 is so good, I thought I'd go ahead...

the risk is actually very low to non-existent and i don't think anyone that
