ZigZag Master
I have tried several different manufactures in the past, and most of them
eventually will start to curl up and peel off the disk.
Is there a best combination of media surface type and label that would help
prevent this?
I am really looking for a combination of DVD media and label that can...

Unreadable cd-r with Nero UDF by
Hans
Hi,
I just received a friend's cd-r, containing xls files and a lot of
photographs, to try to recover it's files.
CD/DVD Diagnostic informs me that it is in UDF format, level 2 and written
by Nero and that more than 900 files are accessible.
Explorer shows the directories and files and...

which side is a cd recorded on? by
William Pelchat
Hi! There is something I wanted to know, namely which side of the cd is
burned by laser - the label or underside? Sounds like a dumb question, but
even vendors are at odds over this question. Thanx for reading and replying
if possible!

99 min cdr worth the risk? by
Trucking
I'm a newbie when it comes to cdr. From reading the faqs, guides, and
googled around, I found that the 90/99 min cdr aren't supported by all
cdrom. It could write on my burner but it's not guaranteed to be read
by other cdrom drive. From the faq I've read, it said 80 min cdr
should be safe. The...

Nero toolkit tests disabled by
Mr. Land
Why are all the tests in Nero 6.3 toolkit (overburn, scandisk)
disabled? On CDSPEED2000.COM, there's a FAQ that states disabled
Start buttons indicate the need to test with a DVD disc, but that
doesn't make sense for my system, since there is no DVD burner.

Help! Accidently quick-erased needed file on a cdrw by
[email protected]
Hi:
I just accidently erased a VERY important file that was on a
cdrw.
I used Nero 6.0 to "quick-erase" the disc. The Nero erase window
warned that quick-erase would not actually erase the entire file, but
apparently just the info that marks its location/name.
Is there any program that can...

maggot
Maybe you already know this but if you don't read the url provided. I
just succesfully turned my 401S into an 811S. It gives you -R
capability and 8x DVD burning. Use at your own risk.

Longest file names in Nero? by
dgk
Nero truncates some long filenames, which causes problems on
verification. Sometimes, if there are multiple files with long names
that have the first part the same, it will only burn one of them.
This is burning as data. I think I've tried all of the combinations of
settings but is there any way...

CD-R "Shelf Life" by
Frank Lodge
Assuming decent quality media, how long a shelf life can
one expect from music or data CD-Rs that have been treated
properly...that is,no extreme temps,scratches,chemical
exposure,sunlight exposure,etc?
Also,as a CD-R approaches the point of "digital death"
will it die "overnight"...or...
