Partitioning library for Windows & Linux by
Robert Bamler
Hi,
I'm writing some piece of open source software that needs a partition
library which runs on both Windows and Linux. The library should be able to
resize a fat-partition on an USB-device (iPod) and create a new partition
(from an image-file) on the released disk space.
I've already searched...

interfacing external PCI enabled USB controller (from Philips ISP1561)
to our board containing DM642. The application is to store the recorded
video to USB Flash Drive (The USB Key). The RTOS used is DSP/BIOS from
TI.

Destroying Old Media by
cpreston
Let me answer this again, as I don't think the last one showed up in the right place.
IMHO, tape shredding is your only real answer.
You should use a commercial tape shredding solution. They're availalbe from your offsite vaulting vendor (e.g. Iron Mountain). They will give you a certificate of...

astrun
Hello,
Will some one please let me know about a good tool to stress the disk
subsystem on NAS/SAN???
It will be good if I can vary the IO or CPU load to disk subsystem and
it should be light on the client/server running this tool.
Thanks a lot.

Raid 0+1 vs raid 5 with 4 hard drives by
bps
Hi,
I'm building a new system with 4 hard drives and i have to chose
between a raid 0+1 or a raid 5 setup. This is for home use which means
i don't care if the system goes down in the case of a hard drive
failure but i want at least minimal data security so i ruled out raid
0. I'd say that...

[email protected]
So I have been around the block with my 2 TB Lacie NAS. When I try to
boot it, I get a message that it cannot find the operating system. I
know that if I use the CD that came with the NAS, it will erase
everything on it. Anyone know of a way to run a diskcheck or repair
the MBR on this thing?
