Network Backup Storage Device by
JimJ
We are using the Veritas Backupexec software for LAN tape backup. We would
like to perform backups to a network storage device. Can anyone recommend a
device for purchase or should we make our own storage device?

Raid 1 on Suse 9.1 with SATA drives by

I set up a Raid 1 on Suse 9.1, and although the /proc/mdstats say both

I have many questions, some of which a

BE v8.6 by
news.det.sbcglobal.net
I have a client running BE v8.6 for SBS on their server. This has been
working flawlessly for a couple of years. Suddenly, nothing will backup.
The job completes successfully in about 10 seconds and the log says:
Backed up 0 files in 0 directories.
This happens whether we try to use backup...

Application benchmarking and specifiying storage requirements by
championsleeper
We have an application which is based around an oracle database and
processes 100's millions of records per day. A number of tables in the
oracle database are hit very hard, with reads and writes to a set of
tables occuring on a near-random basis (dictated by the data
received). I'm in the...

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can assist - I am looking for a decent iSCSI piece of
target software, that will share virtual luns - ie they will use files on a

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has seen this message before and if they
could point me in the right direction. Trying to determine if this

Network Attached Storage advice by
Paul Rubin
Hello all.
I'm considering buying an NAS with RAID for a reliable storage of A/V
data. There seem to be a lot of proprietary O/S devices, and I'm
concered about what happens if the device itself fails. I have lots of
WinXP machines around, so it would be nice if I could mount one of the
drives...

Clariion Drive array help by
Mike Blanchard
I just picked up a Drive array for a really great price from a local
auction from a business that was going under. This device was tucked
in a corner and it was doubtful that it worked (it powered up fine
when I got it home). This business didn't have any other EMC
equipment either. I don't think...
