Clueless! by Snowdon Computers
Went to an IT auction today in Manchester with loads of good P3 kit and servers there, the PCs selling for very very good prices. When it started we were told 'no PCs can be removed until Tuesday as the drives are not formatted'. I spoke to one of the goons about this formatting of the drives and...

Looking for a non-OEM version of Windows XP by Mike
Hi, Does anyone know where to get hold of a retail version of Windows XP Home? I read that OEM versions will only let you perform a clean install - I want to upgrade from Win98. I tried the usual suspects including redstore but haven't had much luck. Anyone have any pointers? Thanks!

Site Help by Simon
A year or so ago, I found a site that allowed you to enter computer products you were interested in and then that 'wish list' was sent to a number of suppliers who would come back with prices. Try as I might, I can't find it now. Does anyone know if it still exists, and if so, the...

DVD burner advice by ric
Hi All, About to buy a 4x DVD burner, and am assuming that getting +R and -R is a Good Idea. I want it to burn DVDs of home movies. I was looking at either the Pioneer 106 or the Sony DWU10A. Couple of questions: I've got Adobe Premier and Sonic DVD-it - is the retail version worth it for extra...

Need advice from other vendors by Snowdon Computers
I have a peculiar situation and am unsure of the steps I should (or can) take legally. Brief history: - Between 28/4/03 and 25/5/03 customer bids, wins and pays for around 3 pallets worth of Compaq servers and accessories from me on Ebay informing me he will collect. - He then proceeds to make 2...

Have I am thinking of upgrading my GF Ti4600 to a FX5600 Ultra. Is that a good idea? I've heard somewhere that the FX5600 is not as fast (but it does support DX 9.0).
