Who would you recommend? by
Jingo
I'm thinking of buying a built to order PC.
A lot of bad reviews for various companies on here - but does anyone have
any recommendations/good feedback for any company?

Parcelforce - Keep Away This Xmas by
blockhed
Hi Guys,
Just thought I better warn all you internet shoppers to keep away from
Parcelforce in this busy period in the run up to Xmas.
Parcelforce now have a new policy of leaving parcels with their friends at
your local Post Office if you are out when they try and deliver.
This is causing me...

Still haven't found a Socket 479 heatsink/fan by
Johannes
I bought the Aopen model from Komplet. Unfortunately, it's the larger
form factor with ~52mm between holes on the motherboard. I need the
MiniATX form factor with ~40mm between holes in the motherboard.
Mini-itx sells an U1 half height CoolerMaster heatsink, but that has
the thermal performance of...

Freeview card? by
TonyC
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a Freeview card/USB for PC. Using it seemlessly with Media
Center with MCE remote would be nice. This will be for my daughters PC, so
main priorities are for great picture quality and ease of use. Recording TV
is secondary.
Is the software that comes with these card...

Aria delivery charges by
shaun
They're losing the plot on their delivery prices:
£26.30+VAT for 4 x 17" TFTs or £24.53+VAT for 4 x 22" CRTs
Or I could just go to ebuyer for £7.24 delivery for the TFTs...

Martin Mander
I'm having major problems with wrongly delivered items from dabs.
Does Dave still post here (he did a couple of years a go)?
Anyone got a phone number for them?

Dabs wish list. by
John Hardaker
I keep a Dabs 'Wish List' of the things I might buy. While researching an
upgrade for a local person a few things were added - Motherboard and the
like - only to find a few days later that all the prices had gone up by a
not insignificant amount. A check into the prices at MicroDirect revealed
all...

TFTs & Dead pixels / Mail order / Sheffield computer shops. by
Doki
Are there any mail order companies happy to guarantee a screen with no dead
pixels, or does anyone know of a decent computer shop in Sheffield that's
not hugely overpriced (ie, PC Worlds' joke £170 for a 15" panel and a kick
in the nuts if it breaks)?

Citylink, the professionals, as always. by
Black Shuck
Bought myself a new laptop last week, a Sony Vaio FS-295XP (very nice, I
think). Anyway, it was delivered by Citylink (if I had known, I would
have ordered elsewhere), but at least it arrived on the scheduled day,
which is a good start.
Anyway, Saturday morning, in my part of the world, it was...

New DVD Writer by

I need to buy a new dvd writer - have used ebuyer in the past but not in the
last 12 months - they seem to be getting bad feedback on delivery.
Can anyone suggest a online retailer to use - one that offers decent
delivery at a reasonable time.
I see Amazon are doing free delivery over £15 orders...
