Recommended Single Server Backup for Windows? by
Will
I have a Windows 2003 Server 64-bit that we need to backup to a locally
attached tape library. The library we are using is Overland Neo 2000 ( a
GREAT product by the way ) and it apparently has no Removable Storage
Driver, so we cannot use the native Windows backup application. I am

File size limitations by
Faeandar
Is anyone aware of a way to limit the size of files allowed on a file
system?
Specifically, I don't want files to be able to grow past XGB.
Thanks.

Polyserve query by
hhteo
Appreciate if someone can help to share their experience with
Polyserve.
Is Polyserve a software solution?
How does Polyserve export to NFS client and could subfolder be
exported with different permission?
For example,
\share1 export to MachineA
\share1\share2 export to MachineB

Backup SW /w Encryption and Remote Storage by
[email protected]
I want to backup my data in a remote location. The total size of the
data is about 500GB but the incremental data is comparably small. A
commercial online backup service is one option but I much prefer a
backup on a family's computer on a different continent. In any case,
here are the...

Hi,
I wish to create a backup solution that will backup all my home data
(nightly/incrementally) off site to my brother's home network over the
internet using broadband.
I'm assuming that I will need to connect via a VPN to join the two
networks. I will use software to capture the dynamic IP...

images on disk and further support ILM with the capability to migrate
the data to tape ?
I know there have been demos at SNW with NetBackup doing this, but I

using a variable in sssu script by
[email protected]
I am trying to figure out, when creating a snapshot/snapclone sssu
script for HP EVA storage system, how to make the snapshot or
snapclone name a variable, preferably a timestamp, this way I can
automate the create of the snapshots and not have to worry about the
name already being used.
Any ideas?

What are most people doing for backups to tape (fulls every week, month etc)? by
markm75
We backup our server's data to our Backup server's raid5 array (1.6 TB
capacity). A full backup right now is 700 GB, after a month's worth
of incrementals, this can go towards 1 TB.
As of now we do monthly fulls to the harddrive backup server.
We are getting a Superloader3 DLT-S4 (800 native)...
