A stupid XP2500+ question? by
SDR
Hopefully this is not a stupid question - If I order a XP2500+, can I
asume that it will always BE a Barton AMD ATHLON XP2500+ 333MHz FSB
Barton 512k L2 Cache?
Just double checking.

A64 3000+ won't O/C on MSI K8N Neo4 Diamond like on MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum by
Uffe
On a K8N Neo2 Platinum with 2x512 HyperX 3200 memory I could easily
overclock my A64 3000+ Winchester to constantly run at 2430 MHz (9 x 270,
HT 3x).
I recently bought a K8N Diamond SLI, using all previous components except
for the graphic card (now running a single Gainward 7800GT Golden...

A64 3100+ clawhammer by
LBJGH
Anyone know what an socket 754 A64 3100+ clawhammer would be worth?
It is clocked at the same speed as an A64 2800+ but has 1mb of L2
cache.
I'm thinking about selling my socket 754 and getting a socket 939.

A64 3500 by
John Whitworth
Looking at getting a 3500 very soon (and anticipating tomorrow's rumoured
price slash). I believe the following is the parts code for the 130nm co
ADA3500AWBOX.
What is the part code for the 90nm core?
Thanks

A64 3500, Neo2, 1GB PC4000 & overclocking - Newbie questions! by
Marc Brown
Since it's a good idea to actually have an idea of what I'm doing, I've
decided to ask for help with some specific overclocking problems I've
encountered.
The ram I have is two sticks of 512MB PC4000 rated at 2.5-3-3. I know that
staying synchronous with the HTT is more or less essential for ram...

I'm planning on building an A64 system soon but I'm waiting for the KT800pro

A64 Overclocking, XMS-4400 or XMS-3200XL Pro? by
JR
Title says it all; I have the 4400 currently but am considering going back
downward to 3200 stuff. I bought the XMS 4400 to reach high HTT @ 1:1 speeds
but am curious if in the long run I'd be better off going with the lower
latency 3200, TIA...

A64 performance loss with pc2700 by
Ed Light
Howdy!
My A64 939 parts arrive today, to run very cpu-bound train simulators.
I don't think my Corsair Value Select pc2700's will run dual channel due to
one being single-sided and one being dual-sided. So I expect to lose 7%
performance there.
Does anyone know the % performance I'll lose by...

A64 running at 34C? by
YanquiDawg
Can this be accurate? Just got the new mobo/cpu(Chaintech VNF3-250,A64 2800)
and idle temp of 34C seems kinda low.All at default speeds and voltage. Using
SiSoft Sandra to get the temps. There's a bug in the bios that shows CPU at 15C.

A64 vs. AXP vs. P4 by
Yeremein
I currently have an Athlon XP 1800+, and I'm looking at an Athlon 64 for
my next system. I have a couple of questions that aren't entirely
related to overclocking, but I can't find another AMD newsgroup, so here
goes.
- Is there an existing released version of Windows that supports AMD64?
- If...

A64: low-latency or fast-speed for RAM? by
[email protected]
I'm looking at an A64 3200+ venice on an Abit AN8 Ultra. I'd like to
overclock to some degree, probably with air.
Would I be better off with a very-low-latency PC3200 RAM or should I
spring for something higher, like PC4400?
I get the impression from reading that I can use a divider to keep...

After reading a few success stories, I tried upgradeing my 2 x 2100+
A7M266-D rev (1.04) board to a pair of 2600 mobile bartons @ 1.45 volt.
Although the newest manual listed the 1.04 rev board as allowing jumpers to
set the voltage for both cpu, the board behavied exactly like the rev 1.03.

A7M266-D with a Athlon XP 3000+ by
Stefan
Hello!
A risky question:
Is there a realistic chance in using an Athlon XP 3000+ (FSB333) in a ASUS
A7M266-D Board? It is a SMP/Dual processor board.
Since it is a little complicated for me to get my hands on a real FSB266
Athlon XP 2800+ , I am thinking of using a Barton FSB333. A...

I just bought these components and I want to know the best settings to

but I'm not sure I understand everything.
First, I'm not really looking for overclocking although if I can gain
a little, then why not... But I will be...
