Olet vastaanottanut jouluaiheisen kuvaviestin. by
Hermanni
Olen jopa itse hämmästynyt siitä peittelemättömästä ydinalan panikoinnista,
jota jo parhaillaan päällemme kaatuvat ydinekotuhot täällä netissä
aiheuttaa. Oli tosiaan täys ylläri miten SELKEÄSTI ydinlobbaajat lopulta
alkoivat oivaltaa ydinalan syyksi nykymaailmamme jyrääviin tuhoihin.

P8Z68/GEN3 Deluxe Noisy USB Bus by
Tater
I was trying to listen to some MP3s on my PC via iTunes, and suddenly
I was like "What the heck - this sounds like crap". I was getting
random clicking and crackling noises. It basically sounded like I was
playing back a badly worn LP.
First I tried the same track several times in a row and...

Head-Scratcher by
Bill Anderson
Golly this group has gone quiet lately. This has always been my go-to
place for help with my computers, but now...Paul, are you still here?
About three years ago I built a desktop machine around an old Asus P5Q
Pro Turbo MBO I had lying around and donated it to a local nonprofit. I
set it up...

Boot by spacebar stopped working by
Bill Anderson
Here's a puzzler for you. I have an Asus P9X79 system which I've been
using happily for almost five years now. The other day I pressed the
spacebar to start the system, and nothing happened. That's weird -- I
always boot by pressing the spacebar, but pressing the button on the
case started...

Prime Z370-A: hot-swap problem by
Percival P. Cassidy
I have a front-panel-mounted drive bay and also an eSATA + USB2 docking
station. I have hot-swap enabled for the appropriate SATA ports, but
hot-swapping does not work in either: the Prime Z370-A motherboard (BIOS
ver. 2001) recognizes when I remove a drive but does not recognize that
a...

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 chips inward design. by
Skybuck Flying[_3_]
Hello,
This seems like a pretty sweet drive to me, especially the 2 Terrabyte
version since it won't have any issue's with the 2.2 barrier limit.
The only thing which bothers me a bit is it's inward chip design which can
be seen here (1) and here (2):

Does the CUV4X or P3V4X support ECC RAM? by
[email protected]
Yes, the ASUS P3V4X supports until 4GB of ECC memory. The specifications about ASUS P3V4X aren't completed correct because it supports memory modules of 1GB so that you can upgrade it until 4GB not 2GB as described here. The operative system can manage 3GB because it needs to use some addresses for...

UPDATE: My new cheap motherboard from China by
Bill Anderson
Paul warned me, but I had all these leftover working parts from the
P9X79 MBO that failed and I hated to see them go to waste and I didn't
want to spend a lot of money building a second new computer, so I bought
a cheap MBO...

Tired of hot processor on P9X79 by
Bill Anderson
I've described my problem before on this newsgroup, and I've received
some helpful advice which I considered carefully and ... didn't act
upon. But this time, I promise, I'm about to solve my problem one way
or another.
Back in September, 2012, I built my current computer around an Asus
P9X79...

NIC MAC address problem on A7 Series boards by
news.lightship.net
I have a computer that currently has an A7N8X Deluxe board in it. I have
one of those software locking programs that looks for the MAC address of the
network card. My MOBO is definetly on its way out (hanging, crashing, etc)
and I need to put a replacement in.
If I trash this board, then I have...

UPDATE: My new Asus Prime X299-A build by
Bill Anderson
I see from the date of my first newsgroup post on this subject that I've
been working on motherboard problems for about two months now. So
here's an update for anybody who's interested.
My old Asus P9X79: I finally had to concede it has gone bad. Nothing I
tried would fix things. A new PS...

Single beep every 14-15 minutes by
Edward[_7_]
I have an Asus Maximus X Hero motherboard. I have the latest version of
Windows 10 installed.
For the last week or so, I heard a single BIOS/motherboard beep I think
every 14-15 minutes, though I only starting keeping track of the time
today. I have checked errors in the event viewer and have...

ASUS drivers - can't access by
Shadow[_2_]
Anyone have an alternative URL ?
The official ASUS support page redirects me to Facebook and Google
logins (after the privacy page says it collects NO personal
information).
There used to be a German FTP site ages ago that would allow direct
downloads. Does it still exist ?
PS The CD that came...

Asus A7N8X-X and AMD Athlon XP 3200+ by
Information Scavenger
I have had this Asus A7n8x-x MB for several months now running an AMD
Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8 ghz CPU) not overclocked in any way. I just
received an AMD XP 3200+ CPU and I was trying to find some resource on
the web to tell me the exact MB settings I should change for this CPU.
If I just put it in...

CPU Cooler designs? by
Gerry_uk
Hi,
As I understand it, most ATX style PC setups have a fan above the CPU
that blows air down onto the CPU to keep it cool, and the hot air
bounces around inside the PC case until it can find an exit (if it's lucky).
As I see it, there are two problems with this,
a) unless you have a vent in...

SP2 865/875 Microcode Industry Failure? by
Ron Reaugh
A very interesting thing has come up regarding SP2 and the motherboard
industry in general. An anomaly was detected in the installation of XP SP2
on Intel 865/875 chipset mobos. After SP2 install most all such mobos from
most all mfgs would HANG on reboot.
