print server - IP port - does it matter ? by
ps56k
We currently have a Netgear PS101 small print server
that attaches directly to the printer's parallel port.
I've setup all the computers to use the IP Port assignment method
for printing - and it basically works fine -
One thing I was wondering,
does it really matter which print server product is...

Not printing to HP Laserjet 4 Plus from Windows XP by
Keith Snyder
I'm running a dual boot computer, Windows XP SP3 on one side, Fedora
Core 3 on the other.
Printing fails from the Windows side, but works fine from the Linux
side. So, it's not hardware. As an expedient I route printing from this
system to another computer on a home LAN. But I want to get...

oki printer grinding noise by
tg
Oki C3300 colour laser printer suddenly started making a horrible loud
grinding noise when it starts up. I've managed to ascertain it's the
magenta roller/cartridge assembly. The grinding sound stops when I take
the whole magenta lump out. Do these assemblies sieze up? If so are they...

HP is next to downsize by
Arthur Entlich
HP has announced it will be letting go of about 6000 employees over the
next year, due to declining sales and revenues. They recently purchased
a service business which has grown by almost 100%, helping to keep their
income up, but sales on desktop computers and printers are down nearly
25%...

Compact duplex color laser printer/scanner? by
[email protected]
I notice that color laser printers are finally getting smaller and
cheaper. I've even seen ones with a scanner. I haven't seen any that
also can duplex.
Does anyone make a Compact duplex color laser printer/scanner?
I don't care about print speed or a sheet feeder, cost and small size
are more...

LaserJet 1012 Vertical Fade by
John Keiser
Printer works well but has a "slight" faded vertical band about 3 inches
from the left margin, about 1/4 inches wide. New cartridge.
Doing a "half self test" I can see slight fadeing on the drum at that
location.
I surmise this means some issue with the laser mirror or lenses.
Normal cleaning...

All in one by
Paul[_18_]
I need to replace my current all in one printer a HP 6110. Computer is using
Windows XP, Pentium 4 #GHZ. I like the HP 6480 with single ink cartridges.
The HP 6500 has multi ink cartridges and a separate print head. I have read
the reviews but have not seen one in action.
It seems that you can...

Lexamark Cartridge No 31 by
species8350
Hi,
I am thinking of buying an empty no 31.
Bearing in mind that the cartridge is empty, would I have any trouble
in re-activating it?
What is the best method of storing an empty cartridge untill I need
it?

Reliable consumer level colour duplex printers. by
Tony Toews [MVP]

to heck with spending the money to repair it.
What suggestions would you foilks have amongst the following options...

problems with Scotchmark and laser printers by
rebel
I sometimes use Scotchmark 3M 7883 labels and normally would print these in an
HP5L. The last batch showed inadequate image adhesion - if the labels were
curved during application, the image would rub off somewhat as the label was
smoothed down with a wiping action using a soft cloth.
Is this...

Lexmark P915 Ink Levels by
[email protected]
I am using a Lexmark P915, just got a refill job at a very reputable
store for a #33 cart, however, they were telling me that they cannot
reset the ink level calibration on the cart. Is there any free
software that will allow me to see the correct ink levels on all
Lexmark carts? Thanks.

Is it possible to have my INcoming faxes print on both sides of the paper
