OfficeJet 6210 by
marin
I have a client that is having issues with their HP officejet 6210 all in one printer. The printer reports the following error:
"Error:0x07a74dd6
1959:lib_barracu" on it's display even after a hard and soft reset.
also,
the ink inside the print no longer moves around (slides on it's carriages) when...

DC Opteron spanks IBM Hurricane Xeon by
Yousuf Khan
Not too long after IBM just released the Hurricane chipset for Xeons,
which took the crown away from Opteron, a 4-way dual-core Opteron system
came out swinging. An IBM Hurricane 4-way xSeries 366 does 150704
transactions per minute, while an HP DL585 4-way dual-core Opteron does

Jan Panteltje
Proposal and code for a simple userspace PCI driver interface:
http://www.uwsg.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0608.3/1908.html
I am not sure how this would work for graphics, ... but the idea is sort of cool :-)
Now we can have all those propriaty code drivers.

What is the difference betwenn "Slot A" and "Socket A" ? by
Peter Meister
I am a bit confused about the difference of motherboard sockets
labelled "Slot A" and "Socket A".
Often it is written that AMD Athlon CPUS fit into SLot A
and at other places into Socket A.
So if Athlon CPUS fit into both types then the socket types must be the same ?
Or are there any...

Video cards using TurboCache by
YKhan
Yeah, with regular 2D applications (most Windows apps), pretty much
anything over 8MB or 16MB is unnecessary. Where the huge amounts of
memory on the video card are needed these days are with 3D apps (most
games). The games store their bitmaps onboard the video memory, and the
more video ram there...

Bizarre shutdown by

I'm running an old Athlon 1200 CPU in a fairly new (1yr old) SiS748
chipset socket A board (an ASRock K7S8XE+, to be precise). It's been
OCd to 1300 (200x6.5) for a year without probs. 1 256Mb stick of DDR400
RAM, one 120Gb SATA HD, one CDRW.
About a month ago it started shutting down randomly -...

Hi,
I've got a self-built PC that had an Intel P4 2.00GHz 400FSB 256k cache

well, but the processor belogs to another computer and needs to go back. To
replace it, I purchased an Intel P4 2.66GHz 533FSB 512k cache processor,...

BIOS boot delay by
Charles Howse
Hello Group,
I have an old clone with a Celeron 300, and AMI BIOS.
When I enter BIOS Setup, it tells me:
AMIBIOS HIFLEX SETUP UTILITY - VERSION 1.20
I have an 8GB HDD as primary master,
a 2.1 GB HDD as secondary master,
and a CDROM as secondary slave.
During post, there is about a 30 second delay...
