PC2100 DDR Ram with Athlon XP 2500 Barton? by Mr. Brian Allen
Is PC2100 DDR Ram compatible with the Athlon XP 2500 Barton? If it is, do you have a motherboard recommendation for this combination? Thanks Yeah, just find any DDR compatible motherboard that'll run a 2500. There are loads of them out there.

Pop Up Windows by Mr. Brian Allen
I use a neat little program called "Stop-the-Pop-Up". It's a free download from Cnet. It destroys all pop-ups before they hit your screen. If you want a pop-up to appear, you hold down control while you click the link. It's a great program.

Pop Up Windows by Blaedmon
use norton personal firewall - it stops 3rd party popups and webpages as well as keeps your system protected from outside infiltration from lamers. I never get popups or webpages that i dont want to see. "Redd" wrote in...

2400+ @ 2.0Ghz by Gaidheal
Hiya Soupladel... if you can do it, the 2400+ will run ok at an FSB of 200 with a 10x multiplier. But I currently cannot even get another 50Mhz out of the CPU no matter how I screw with the FSBxMultiplier combos and I did try taking VCore up a bit (no higher than 1.725 - I'd rather have it 'stock'...

Damaged CPU by Brian
Greetings, I recently purchased a 2500+ Barton. My motherboard would not post so I tried my old AMD processor for verification on a bad motherboard. I was having trouble removing the heat sink so I had someone help me by using a small screwdriver to pull outward on the clip so it...

Setting up IRQ's in BIOS for winXP Home by S.Heenan
noise wrote: Hi, Recently bought a new Epox 8RDA+ rev. 1.1 with the NForce2 ST chipset, Athlon XP 2600+ and some PC3200 RAM (single 256MB for now, will get 2x something really fast later). Everything's working beautifully and I'm able to overclock the FSB to 200 so that RAM and CPU are...

New Computer questions by noise
OK I know the thread's out of date but I've been away - I would suggest looking at something with the NForce2 chipset, it really is excellent, stable and has all the gadgets you could ask for. There's a new Ultra 400 version which is factory-rated for 200Mhz FSB (or 400 in marketing-speak), and I...

Problems with multiplier by Verne Cotton
I upgraded my video card from an GeForce 2 GTX to a GeForce 4 4800/128, and installed a 1.33 Tbird Athlon into my PC Chips M830L mobo. Now I cannot bring the processor up to 1.33 gHz without the system crashing to the Missing or Corrupt SYSTEM File error. When I take it back down to 1.0 gHz the...

New Computer questions by Gaidheal
K75SA has a known BIOS problem - specifically after a while certain revisions would blank the CMOS settings every time one of two temperatures was reached. The temperatures vary from board to board. Not the end of the world, but annoying and there are newer better boards now.

Overclocked FSB - is this safe? by noise
Hi, I've just upgraded an old system to an Athlon XP 2600+ on an Epox 8RDA+ m'bd. with a single Samsung 256MB PC3200 DIMM (I'll get 2 x 512 of some real high-performance stuff when I've got the $) The board is the revision 1.1 version, chipset is NForce 2 ST. AFAIK this isn't the new 400mhz FSB...

266 FSB vs 133 FSB by Gaidheal
Actually... the FSB is indeed 133Mhz. The CPU simply operates in its core at a much faster rate than this by using a multiplier. And since all Athlons now are DDR memory bus has double throughput of "normal" SDRAM system with the same processor and memory. The bus clock is not actually any...
