Voltage of extra current when using Duron 1.8 compared to 1.6? by
Sammy-Jo
I looking to use a 1800 MHz Duron rather than 1600 MHz Duron.
The PSU is fairly good but not particularly powerful, so I want to be
careful that it can supply enough power for the processor.
The specs say that the "Typical Power Dissipation" for the 1.6 Duron
is 48 W and for the 1.8 Duron it is...

Help noob o/c A64 3200+ (Venice) on Asus A8V Deluxe? Thanks! by
ChowBoy
First off, I'm not a gamer, and as you can guess I am a total noob at
this, but I really want to try to overclock my new A64 3200+ Venice
core chip to see if I can get better performance out of the
applicatons I use.
I have tried to learn from searching the Internet, but I think I'm
more confused...

200 or 400Mhz? by
chris
Hello:
I have a question about FSB. Memory manufacturers are marking memory which
is DDR PC3200 running @ 400Mhz. Shouldn't that be 200Mhz and 400FSB?
From what I understand, DDR gets twice the amount of data in one clock cycle
compare to SDRAM.

Athlon XP3200+ at 333Mhz? by
Steve Kovack Sr.
Hi All, I was just looking to purchase an XP3200+ and found that one
place has both a 333Mhz and a 400Mhz FSB processor available. I thought
that they only came in the 400Mhz flavor. Does anybody know anything
about this supposed 333Mhz version? TIA

AMD WON'T ADMIT PROBLEM WITH SEMPRON by
Sillysam
I bought a system from a distributor. First the motherboard wouldn't make
any cdrom drive work, whether new or used or cdrom or cdrw. Any hard drive
would work on this motherboard.
Changed ram
Changed harddrives
Changed cables
changed cd drives.
Nothing would make the motherboard make a cdrom work.

Fluff! by
Bob Smith \(UK\)
Invest in some pipe cleaners. I cleaned out my CPU heatsink today. I have
had CPUCool kicking in at 40C to cool my CPU down (been cooling abut 90% of
the time, as well as underclocking it), but now it does not get above 38C at
the proper FSB.

Athlon XP-CPUs mit FSB=266 and >= 2600+ by
Stephen
Hi Newsgroup!
I have got an ASUS A7M266-D mainboard. I am on the search for CPUs running
on this one. (The current CPUs are 2*1400MHz 1600+ Athlon MPs)
Officially AMD has the Athlon MP 2800+ which runs with FSB266 and should
be truely supported. But as kniow, these are expensive... ;-)

motherboard uses PC133, runs WinME). The machine does boot up, I got it
going in safe mode and I have no doubt that it's infected with at least
two virus's and...

Cheap case vs Expensive case??? by

Cases come in an almost infinite variety of designs. What are the
justifying factors for spending a lot more on an expensive case, not
counting the differences in power supplies?
