Best 6800GT PCIe comparison? by
Thomas Andersson
Hi!
I currently have a Golden sample (overclocked) 6800GT card with 256MB DDR3
ram. Now I wonder if I was to trade up to PCIe system, what would be the
cheapest card with at least the same or slightly better performance I could
get?
Best Wishes
Thomas

Budget video-card advice requested please. by
Andrew Lyall
Hi,
I'm on a low budget (below £50 for an AGP card if possible) and have had a
2.53Ghz P4 unit given to me as a gift at Christmas. I'm looking to replace
the 64Mb MX440 video card. I play Call of Duty 2, Civ IV, Rome Total War,
FS2004 etc.
There's 3 cards I've looked at on a website, 2 are Nvidia...

GeForce 6600 GT quality boost possible? by
Robert Oschler
I am amazed at the difference in quality between high quality and med.
quality modes using Doom 3. Unfortunately, my current rig won't cope with
high-Q mode (3.0 GHz P4 with 512 MB ram) using my GeForce 6600 GT card.
Game damn near freezes up when the fighting starts in high-Q mdoe.
Would more...

128Mb or 256Mb ? for graphics... by
Steve
I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card, but I can't decide if or not to
go for a 256Mb model. Is the memory important, or is 128Mb considered
'enough' ? I am looking at a
Nvidia 5700 (256Mb),
Radeon 9600 (256Mb) or
Radeon 9800 (128Mb).

I have a Gainward GeForceFX 5900 Golden Sample 8x/4x AGP card that is
giving me a lot of trouble. As soon as I turn the computer on, I see
4 sets of vertical lines equally spaced across the screen. I see
these vertical lines in the BIOS and in the Linux GRUB boot menu too.

Have gf2. Which nvidia budget card to buy? by
War_Pig5
I'm building another system (an htpc) from spare parts, and all I need is a
video-out-capable video card to complete it. It will have an Intel 815 mb
with a 433-1000 mhz cpu (I'll experiment and see what it will need to play
movies).
Which video card would you recommend? I don't want an ATI card...

6800 GT, does it matter which brand? by
husker
I see compusa has the 6800 GT w/256mb DDR for $399 with a free copy of Doom 3.
Thats a pretty good price, even comparing online. The brand is PNY which is pretty respectable from what I can tell.
Prices online vary from $379 up to $450. Whats the difference? Are there any brands I should look out...

I've come to the conclusion that nVidia... by
Jake Farnmouth
....sucks. ATI is, like, 100% better in every aspect. My ATI is
better than nVidia. I did nVidia ages ago - last week! - but this
ATI rocks for hard-core gamers. nVidia just sucks - I gave an
8800 to my mate but he just dumped it and went with ATI.
