I have a year-old R3240US, which uses the 3200+ AMD 64. The system runs like a blast furnace when I run any game on it. Is there a lower-powered version of the processor that can replace the current one? Certainly some of the newer AMD chips use less power, but I'm not sure what's compatable.

I have just found out that we have an old computer running Compag web based management. How do you turn this off on W98, do you just uninstall it from add remove programs? I would prefer a method where I don't reboot, but it is running on a system with W98, so my guess a reboot is inevitable.
