FLOPS per Cycle on a P4 by
Andre
Hi,
Can someone please tell me the number of Floating-Point Operations a
Pentium 4 (2.6Ghz) can do in a single cycle? Also, what are the grouping
instructions that can be performed in a single cycle? (for example, 1
load/store operation, 2 integer ops, 1 flop etc)? What good is SSE or
SSE2 in...

i686 package by

Hi all,
I try to install a product on one RH box, with cpio, not rpm.
The install notes of the product indicate:
"This product was built on RedHat Linux 7.2 for i686 compatible processors
and is targeted for Linux Kernel 2.4.7 or higher and glibc 2.2.4 or higher
versions."
rpm -qa tells me that...

Hi all !
I was writing a program which is testing the CPU stability. I was
developing it way before hyperthreading was introduced.
And now that hyperthreading is there and my testing program is almost
done, I encounter a problem.
I cannot spawn two threads at the same time running my test. My...

System Clock running in hyper mode on Intel system by
Kevin Hammond
We have a NT 4 server on a Intel Boxed motherboard and processer where the
system clock is accelerating. It is changing days about one day per 2-3
seconds.
With the date and time applet open, I watch the hands of the clock turn in
circles kind of like watching a movie. I wish I could make an avi...

D865GBF + Radeon 9700np by
Strontium
Since I bought this card (Powercolor), I have not been able to get it to
send signal to the monitor at cold boot. I have to, every time, hit the
reset button or let Windows 'reboot from bugcheck' and then it fires up the
monitor. Every cold boot. Only one reset needed. I've narrowed this...

no IRDA on Intel 845 BG ??? by
Kuba Szmigielski
Hi,
Please help ! I tried to find an IRDA connector
on my motherboard but no luck. I found info about other Intel board
that it might be on "front panel connector" but it is not recognized
by the sysytem (W2K) and in 845BG it's described as NC (no connect)
so I guess it is not there...?
Is it...

Has AMD stopped publishing recommended PS's? by
Yousuf Khan
I went to the AMD website looking for the recommended power supply
list, and it looks like AMD just publishes links to the manufacturer's
websites now. Doesn't look like it's doing the PS lab testing anymore.
Anyone know anything about this?

Actually, no. Marv is right.
if interrupts are disabled, and an interrupt is pending,
and you execute a sti, an interrupt will get recognixed
