Axcel 46CD obtained by Ben Myers[_2_]
Just to stir up this group a little, I need to say that I got myself a PB Axcel 46CD desktop system today. Customer housecleaning, along with other work I did there. Haven't touched it yet to see if it powers up or what is inside. Any interest in either the whole system or parts? Assuming...

F170 cmos battery by mc
The f170 has a changeable bios battery. This appears to be a 680 MB (non usb), so how do I remove this battery? I'm not sure if the locking mechanism moves up, down or sideways. mc

Large HD by mc
I put a wd 160gig HD in my PB 994cdt but it only sees 8gig. I tried using the wd ez bios(9.09 from 1997) and ver 11.2 which only saw 137 MB (go figure). I have dual boot with win 95 and win 2000. Is there a way to get the win 2000 to see more than 8 gig? mc

I collected a Packard Bell model 820 small tower computer today. This is one of the first ATX form factor computers sold by PB, but it is still a Socket 7 with a Cyrix CPU and 72-pin SIMMs. It has a SiS 5598 motherboard chipset. The hardware is complete and appears to be all original, except...

A Packard Bell 60MHz Socket 4 Pentium system showed up here yesterday as part of a collection of out-of-service computers. The desktop case was pretty munged up, but the motherboard appears to be in good shape. The system had the original PB Aztec full-length ISA sound card, but somebody...

PB Pentium gear shows up! by Ben Myers[_2_]
There in a pile of older computers was yet another PB desktop system, again without the top like the last one. This one has a nice Intel-made Pentium board with the later 430VX chipset, a Pentium 133, a green heat sink, and jumpers to go up to 200MHz with a suitable CPU. The front of the case...

New addition: PackMate 7715EX by Robert E. Watts
Hi Gang ! Picked up a new addition to the Packard Bell herd, a PackMate 7715EX. (I don't think I'll ever get a handle on Packard Bell's naming system. ) Brings the collection to 25, and completes the "name lineup". Only model missing now is the "all in one", which Bill has a monopoly on. ...

How do I replace the BIOS battery? by Kenn Caesius
I have Packard-bell 450M+/4x4 computer and after 13 years of service, the BIOS battery has died, causing all sorts of start-up problems. How would I go about replacing the battery? The user manual gives no instructions and it seems that its soldered on to the motherboard. The manual mentions...
