where is a stable release of kde 3.1.4??? by
Phrederik
Where do you plug it in...
It IS hardware, right? You did post to a hardware group.
today I read that KDE has released version 3.1.4, but unfortunately I
didn't
find an rpm-version for SuSE 8.2.
Does anybody know when it will be released for SuSE 8.2?

Hello Group,
I have an old clone with a Celeron 300, and AMI BIOS.
When I enter BIOS Setup, it tells me:
AMIBIOS HIFLEX SETUP UTILITY - VERSION 1.20
I have an 8GB HDD as primary master,
a 2.1 GB HDD as secondary master,
and a CDROM as secondary slave.
During post, there is about a 20 second delay...

Memory recognition problem by
Ernie Moshurchak
My system has a CA61 board with 3 168-pin DIMM sockets. I recently
added a second 256 Kingston SDRAM DIMM but the system will not
recognize more than 256MB. Is there some additional configuration
that needs to be done?

I can be using my ATX system (W98SE) and it suddenly will power down.
Powering back up sometimes takes several tries.
This doesn't seem to happen when my system is just 'on', sitting idle

Hello,
Since some time now, I have a problem with my standby function in Windows

it goes and remains in standby.

blowing OUT), i've finally managed to bring my case temperatures under
control -- about 6C above the room ambient (ambient is 28C, case is 34C).
But my...

3COM Ethernet is "good" - huh? by
Crusty \(-: Old B@stard :-\)
Maybe it's the "tolerance" of the components they use during assembly. There
are 20% resistors, 10% resistors, 1% resistors etc. The closer tolerance
components cost more and hold their ratings better.

PC Box WHINE by
Jason
My Dell Dimension 4100 has developed an annoying whine. It's not constant
but more a loud-soft-loud thing. Like: WHINE-whine-WHINE-whine. I'm assuming
this is either the fan or the harddrive. Any easy way to find out which?
I've stuck my ear in there but I can't pinpoint it. Thanks
