Intel's Larrabee GPU based on secret Pentagon tech, sorta
By Jon Stokes
In a recent interview with German tech site heise.de, Intel's Pat
Gelsinger let slip* there's some interesting information that I've
been sitting on since last year, but haven't published: the processor
cores that make up...

Intel Larrabee will have 32 cores, not 16 or 24 by
AirRaid[_3_]
Originally, Intel was saying Larrabee would have 10 or more cores.
Most articles in 2007 mentioned 16 to 24 cores. This was when
Larrabee was slated for release in 2009.
Now that Larrabee has been pushed to 2010, it seems Intel will be able
to get 32 cores into the first version.
"How many of...

Temperature range by
Mhaxx[_2_]
My PC sometimes crashes and I don't know so but I'm monitoring CPU and
graph. card temperatures..
Do you know the exact good range of work for "NVIDIA GeForce 6200 LE" and if
a high temp could block the PC as often happens to me?
Thanks in advance,
Mhaxx

FEAR max 5 FPS by
DRS
This may be the wrong group but better the devils I know. :)
I fired up FEAR the other day and it absolutely will not exceed 5 FPS. I
even tried dropping everything back to minimum (btw, watching the
performance test sequence at 640x480 is most amusing) but regardless of the
game settings it...

PCI-E video card question by
Raymo[_2_]
Hi,
I am going to build a computer based on a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R mobo. The
video card will be a Nvidia 9800 GTX. The mobo has a PCI-E x16 slot but the
video card needs a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot.
What is the difference and will it work in the mobo?
Thanks.

Multiple monitors by
houghi
I have the intention of building a new PC. The software it will be
running will be openSUSE Linux 11.0
I do have 3 screens. 2 x 24" 1920x1200 and 1 x 20" 1600 x 1200.
I am not interested in running 3d. I will however go for NVidia as this
is better support with drivers under Linux.
What I am...

25 bad things in CoD4 Multiplayer. by

Hello,
Today I made a very lazy list of what I considered to be bad things in Call
of Duty 4... especially when compared to Battlefield 2. I am not saying
Battlefield 2 is perfect. I am not saying Call of Duty 4 is bad or anything
like that.
All I am saying these points are worth consider...

nVidia In Talks With AMD Over PhysX Technology Transfer by
First of One[_2_]
Back on June 26 TGDaily reported that PhysX runs on HD 3870:

Looks like that may have been intentional:

Nvidia 175.19's pulled by
oldwolf[_2_]
The above drivers are no longer available from the Nvidia website.
Seems they had a slight problem with them, ie. reduced frames in testing and
benches.
They have left the 175.16's available, even though people have reported
minor problems with them.
Just rechecked the web site and definitely...

Medion Ti4200 - Supported by NVidia drivers? by
Rene
Hi,
I can buy an old Ti4200 for very little money for an old PIII I own, that
way I can also play an occasional game on it. The card is however from a
Medion PC and I was wondering whether that manufacturer might have given it
an own id so it would not be supported by the standard nvidia...
