New HD won't work with Drive Image by
Martin
I have just replaced my primary slave drive, which I use for file backups
and drive images, with a higher capacity drive, and now can't run Drive
Image. With the old, smaller drive there is no problem. I get 2 error
messages with the new one: " #91 - Disk Manager detected on Drive 1, but is

image v. backup by
Old guy
I can't seem to unsderstand the differences between
Norton Ghost - claims to make backups
imaging software
regular ol' file backup
Is Ghost a backup app?
how does imaging differ from backup?
how much space does each take (e.g., backing up a 40G drive takes
another 40G drive)?
I think I know there...

Ghosting a RAID0 drive partition and restoring it by
Lorenzo Sandini
I heard Norton Ghost allows to make a ghost image of a partition or of a
whole RAID0 array, but does not allow to restore the ghost image onto a
RAID0 partition/drive.
Am I wrong ? In case I am, what software would be able to do this ?

looking for opinions on hotswap SATA drives as a viable backup solution by
Jason
I'm in the process of putting together a new backup solution for one
of our file servers and I wanted to throw my idea out there and see
what sort of flaws there are in the plan, that I can't see myself.
We've got a server that has outgrown its current tape backup (40/80
dlt). The server will...

Buying A Hard Drive by
Strider
Hello all,
I've been looking for some good places to buy a new hard drive.
Currently I've found:
www.ebuyer.com &
www.easyetrader.com
Generally speaking, we're talking £110 for a 200gb hard drive. I don't
need one that big and would settle for an 80-120, anyone know any good

Standard IDE hard drives in NAS devices? by

Does anyone know if Iomega NAS drives have off the shelf IDE hard drives

appears to be in good shape. So, I'm thinking about taking it apart and

I'll probably never buy another IBM/Hitachi drive ever again mainly
because of the companies attitude at claiming there was no problem when
there clearly was an issue (although I dont believe it was as bad as
some people try to make out).

Hello Joep,

using FDISK) has worked like a charm.
In less than 10 minutes I've been able to finally make an image of my system
partition.
Best regards.
