Problem w/Win98 & Hyper Threading P4? by
289425
I've been building my own pc's for 12 years now but am stumped with a
current problem.
I'm trying to set up a dual boot Win98SE & XP Pro on a P4 2.8 HT using
an Intel GPFL mobo. I previously ran XP Pro for a month with no
problems, then realized I needed to dual boot and so wiped the...

can I change the cooler/ fan on my graphics card? by
32andtwentyseven
Can I change the cooler/ fan on my graphics card?
I have a GeForce 7950 GT and 2 free PCI-E slots on my mobo. I recently
replaced by near-silent PSU, and now the noise that bugs me is the
graphics card fan.
What is a good solution?
Thanks!

What are important things to keep very valuable data secure? by
32andtwentyseven
Perhaps somewhat off topic. But lets say you have a business and you
want to keep information "blueprints" totally secure. Aside from
having the vital data off-line and using encrypted pen drives, what
other things should you be doing?

Off topic - a different TV problem by
32andtwentyseven
My TV was dropped a very small distance and ever since the picture has
a kind of smearing on certain colours. Also the Standby light now
flashes a special pattern to tell me something is wrong. It was a high
end Sony, about 11 years old. Everything was perfect until it got a
drop a few months...

Help - PC won't turn on. by
32andtwentyseven
My main home computer won't turn on. The motherboard light is on, and
the Ethernet light.
I was adding a new hard drive to the case (a new Samsung spinpoint
250GB IDE). It would be my third drive. I also have a further Samsung
250GB IDE and a Maxtor 200GB SATA drive (my OS is on the sata...

PC cuts out after 35 seconds or so by
32andtwentyseven
What do you think...
After fitting a new power supply to my desktop PC, my PC switched on,
then after 30 seconds or so, it cut itself out. I pressed power again
immediatly after, but this time it only lasted for 5 seconds before it
switched itself off. I also removed and replaced the CPU stock...

Overheating problems by
32andtwentyseven
Ok here is the story.
I bought a new Power Supply, which I fitted fine. However it is a
"quiet" power supply and dumps a load of heat inside my case.
As a result my Graphics Card fan now prefers to work at 100% even when
my PC is idle. So it is working harder to maintain the same
temperature....
