Ok, no big deal but... (long) by
PiePlanter
....ebuyer have really wound me up this time.
I've been dabbling in self-build pc's for about 15 years or so now and for
the last few years have bought most of my gear from ebuyer. I've never had
a problem until now, and even then it's not a matter of life or death...but
the principle.
At the...

Buying a monitor from digiUK by
OVS
Found a monitor I like on http://www.digiuk.com/ the IIyama E430. I'm
about to order it, but there seems to be differing product specs from what
they have on their webpage (response time 16ms) and the brochure pdf also
linked on their page(response time 25ms).
Obviously I'm after the 16ms, but if...

I'm tempted to go and get one and am interested to read any views.
Thanks.

Spares sourcing for older systems by
Frank le Spikkin
Generic components e.g. memory, disk, PSU are readily available and
will fit older systems. Components particular to earlier generations
of processor are more tricky to source. Can anyone recommend
suppliers of such replacement components for out-of-date (but still
usable) systems e.g. ATX...

Is a Celeron a P4? by
Fishman
A m8 of mine bought a Packard Bell PC recently from a well known high street
store.
I won't name the store but just think of what Indian restaurants serve up.
Yes I know, perhaps he was drunk or suffering a severe bout of amnesia at
the time!
Anyway, the PC was advertised and sold to him as having...

Looking for reliable hardware suppliers - recommendations please by

Hi all,
Is it just me or is the number of hardware suppliers in the UK who have
any reasonable level of customer service dropping at an alarming rate?
Over the years, I've used a whole range of companies in the UK, both big
and small. Currently I mainly use OC, Novatech, Insight and Dabs....

TFT Monitors by
John Hardaker
What should one look for in a TFT Monitor? Dot size, contrast ratio, etc.
Does a 19" have more pixels than a 17" or the same amount but bigger?
Has the technology settled down yet or is it still developing? Is this a
good time to buy or wait and see what happens?
What is 'best' at the moment?

19/20" TFT - what would you buy and where from? by
Paul Hutchings
I'm sick of trying to narrow the field down, so whilst this might open it
up, rather than saying "what do you think of model xxx" I'll simply ask -
if you were going to buy a 19" or 20" TFT, for general office/internet use,
DVD and video playback and the very occasional game at lowish...

it would be around "next week". However, I...
