Best setup for SSD 64GB on new build by
Frank
Newbie starting a new build with a SSD 64GB drive which I intend to use as
the boot and a separate 1TB drive for programs/storage.
Question: should I only put the Win-7/64 files on it and/or other files
to utilize the speed of the drive?
Thanks.

bottom mounted power supplies by
coltrane
I planning on building a new system and I have been seeing a lot of
cases where the power supply mounts on the bottom of the case. I have
never seen this before. Is there a benefit to bottom mounting?
thanks for the feedback

Computer Freeze! by
[email protected]
This was my original post in m.p.w.b. Since I now think my problem is
hardware, namely my PSU, I am continuing my thread here.
I am, and have been for some time, running XP SP3. Have had no
trouble until now. It is on a M3A78_CM mobo with a AMD Phenom 9950
Quad cpu and 4GB DDR2.
I find...

Hottest value AMD-based mobo today? by
No Name
Ok, I'm looking for the hottest value (price/performance) AMD motherboard/4
gig ram/CPU/Vid card combo today.
But ...... there are limits. I don't want to go over $1000. Less is
better. 4 Gig ram is minimum. USB 3.0 would be very cool. Must be
compatible with 32 bit XP and Linux.
So ......

Strange video display: look by
Ralph Innes[_2_]
Hi there, Group!
I began getting strange video, while playing Frecell, about 2-3 weeks
ago. (Now I know, nobody here wastes time on Freecell...)
Please have a look at:
http://members.shaw.ca/haruspex/FreeCell.jpg
If I minimize the Freecell window, then restore it, the image "corrects"

AT case specs by
Pawihte
I need the specs for AT computer cases (cabinets) but am not having much
success with a search. Can anyone please provide a link?
I need info about dimensions, mounting hole locations, etc. I've been to
formfactors.org, but there doesn't seem to be anything about AT except some
passing mention.

What's wrong with my image? by
mm
What's wrong?
About every three months, the image on my CRT monitor gets bad. The
red part of the image is to the left or maybe right of the rest.
If I turn off the monitor for 5 minutes, it gets no better.
IF I put the computer into standby for 5 minutes, when I wake it up,
the picutre is...

Presario F700 Over-Sensitive mousepad by
[email protected]
A friend asked me to fix his Presario F700 which had Vista on it and
was locked up. I installed XP SP3 PRO on it just to see what problems
might arise because everything I read on the web says the F700 was
intended to be for Vista exclusively. All seems fine except the mouse
cursor and the...

Laptop Shuts Down And Won't Start Back Up Right Away. by
HelloEnmity
I have a HP Pavilion zv5000 and I always keep it plugged in because the
battery doesn't hold a charge anymore. So my problem is that my computer
will run for about 24 hours or so and then it shuts down. When I try to
turn it back on it won't do it for hours. After I keep it unplugged for
4 hours or...

Toshiba a75-s209 Laptop Wireless by
[email protected]
Anyone know where I can buy what I need to make my new toy - a Toshiba
a75-s209 Laptop - Wireless? I have found what look to me to be USB
adapters to do that, but i don't want to sacrifice a USB port. There
should be one that connects in a compartment in the case bottom.
Thanks

Toshiba A75-S209 Wireless PCMCIA Card? by

As my earlier posts show, I have resurrected a Toshiba A75-S209

range to my Verizon wireless router.
I am looking to increase the Toshiba's range. Since I don't know
where the internal Toshiba antenna is, One way would be using...

Are the DIMMs on the Crucial websites the only Crucial ones that will work? by

Are the DIMMs suggested at the manuracturers' websites the only ones
that will work. Or even the best ones? (I hate to spend too much
money fixing up a computer that's 7 years old)
Looking at crucial.com, for my Dell, Dimension 4600, for example, it
only recommends two 1-gb DIMM, pc2700, one 333...
