TFT and Speakers (magnet) by AD C
scofer wrote: Do the magnets in speakers affect TFT monitors like they do CRT monitors? Thanks. No, as far as I know they do not. There are no magnets inside TFTs like there is in a CRT tube.

Hissing 3com hub by Pete
I have a 3com OfficeConnect Dual Speed 8-port hub - a few years old now - which has recently started producing a loud hissing noise, and occasionally a high-pitched squealing noise to boot. However, it still seems to work okay (touchwood). Is it about to pop a capacitor or something? We used to...

Any ideas ? PC seems dead. by Some One
Okay, the problem is the PC turns on but the red light (by the drum/tube type icon on the case) stays on and doesn't do much else. The computer hums but doesn't post, no drives can be accessed, nothing comes up on the screen (except a "no input" message". That red light means the hard...

cutting psu wires by Pen
Fold them up neatly and leave them alone. There is nothing good that will result from random snipping of power supply cables. You're in grave danger of shorting something out, to say nothing of the fact you would eliminate any possibility of ever adding anything to the computer. "Softly Softly...

I've had this problem awhile but it seemed to be getting worse. My computer pretty much wipes out my AM radio (FM unaffected). All the wall sockets in my room are on the same circuit so I'm out of luck moving the radio. Now... I expect the AM radio to go bonkers if the system is on but this happens...
