Network PC & Mac by
Nick
I know sum1 that wants to connect to the internet with broadband using an
internal ADSL modem. Is it possible to connect a Mac laptop to it so the
Mac can use the same connection?

GF4 and Zalman cooler by
Splontoon
Hi all,
I have a PNY Verto GF4 TI4600 graphics card and the fan on it has an
annoying habit of spinning faster after approx 10mins. Before this happens
my PC is relatively quiet but when the fan spins faster you can really
notice the noise increase.
So I have been looking at replacing the fan...

Hard Disk Partitioning by
Vanguard
You missed the key word in the poster's request: FREE. PartitionMagic costs
money. Sorry, I personally don't know of a free disk partitioner and
probably wouldn't use one considering how critical is this component to the
operation of your operating system. Doesn't Windows XP have one? ...

I keep seeing computers advertised with faster FSBs than their memory.
For example, computers with 400 MHz FSBs are being sold with PC2100

Harddrives - 2mb caches verses 8mb caches by
Kb
Hi,
I was about to buy a new harddrive, and was wondering if the difference in 2mb and
8mb cache drives was worth the extra. Anyone know what approximate
% speed difference there is (I was looking at Maxtor, Seagate and WD ones)?
And is it it noticable in practice? I was wanting it for my desktop...

they do it

Failure to boot when installing new CPU. by

removing the battery is not the way to clear the cmos, it is a shortcut
around the proper way. Shorting the jumper (when provided) is the only way
this should be done or did you do it this way? Your post was a little
unclear. Heck some people aren't even unplugging the ATX PSU while pulling
the...

New mobo - comp still won't boot by

The computer isn't much better than last time. I'm running an Asus

whole thing turns on (fans start spinning, etc.), which is bad, because
usually the computer waits for me to press the power switch before
turning on. I've...
