Cheap moonlight network cameras? by BluntChisel[_2_]
Hello - I'm looking for a cheapish network camera with some ability to see landscapes under moonlight or even starlight. The hills I want to see are kilometres away, so IR illumination won't help. 8 years ago I used Phillips Toucam USB webcams with CCD sensors for this task, and they were able to...

Identifying Make/Model Via Internet Connection? by (PeteCresswell)
I've been tasked with setting up a surf cam for a local windsurfing shop. The idea is for people to be able to check conditions themselves without calling the owner. Have been able to more-or-less verify that Canon's VB-C60 will do the job by looking at a sample of it's VB-50 predecessor. But...

Housings: AC Power Required ? by (PeteCresswell)
I know nothing, but somebody who sounds like they really know keeps recommending housings for a proposed outdoor surfcam that require AC power to perform their cooling/heading function. This pretty much defeats the major advantage of POE cameras: now we have the considerable extra expense/work of...

Tenvis rubbish by gargoyle60
Just bought one of these IP cameras. What a pile of garbage! The picture quality is awful, the software is even worse and the manual is a joke. I've spent two whole days trying to get this camera to work to a reasonable level of performance, without any real success. Cheap knock-off. Avoid

Hello everybody, I have just installed successfully the camera Apexis APM-J012-L-WS under my WIndows XP, and I can see the picture via IE browser. But I can´t add this camera to windows, because there is no *.inf driver on the cd-rom. So windows itself doesn´t has knowledge of this camera...

any good wireless cameras with dhcp for ad-hoc connections? by [email protected]
Hello I have an old trendnet tv-ip121w that I set up as ad-hoc. I left the encryption open and set up the channel to be on 6 and gave the camera a static ip. After I rebooted the camera and unplugged the ethernet cable I was able to connect to the camera using my phone (android) using MANET...
