Cheap ass sound card by
JAYMZ B
Well the other day i was in a rush to get my computer out from under
my desk so i could put some new cold cathodes in. I forgot to unplug
the audio jack and the pressure of pulling the computer ripped the
audio socket straight out of my motherboard (onboard sound). So I have

Gustavo G. Rondina
Hi all
I am running Debian GNU/Linux Sid on a Pentium4 1.7GHz.
About a week ago it was installed on a Maxtor 30GB IDE HD, as
Secondary Master (hdc). A HP CD writer was set up as Primary Slave
(hdb). With some hours of use the HD and the CD-R led had turned on

USB Header (1.1 and 2.0 Identification) by
john baker
How do you tell that a header / backplate is USB 2.0 if the Hi-Speed
logo is not present.
I have some headers (GIGABYTE P/N 12CR1-1UB020-02) (FOXCONN P/N
CU08C01S10-C48)that have a trident style logo on them. They also have
a black plastic pinout block with the k7asa wiring.

AMD 64 or Intel Prescott by
[email protected]
After reading what several of you have to say, especially ancra, I have
some more questions but not really in reguards to the processors. Is it
more better (read: smarter/economical) to buy or build a $500-$800
computer and replace after about two years (maybe less/more) or build a
dream rig for...

BIOS difficulty by
Aaron
How can I resolve an "out of scan range" issue without access to the
BIOS, let alone Windows? It's a new motherboard, I transplanted most
of the parts from my old motherboard, where everything worked fine.
I reformatted the hard drive. I want to use an AGP video card, was
previously using a PCI...

Issues with my hard drives... by
Mike
I have just inherited a dell comp from my aunt. She claimed that it
was broken, and just didn't feel like dealing with it anymore, and as
a result, I got it.
It's a dell with their own bios, ver. A01,
1.8 Ghz P4 processor,
256 Mb RIMM memory,
9.8 Gb HDD,
Running XP Pro.

ati radeon 9200 and winex fedora core 1 by
Matt Taylor
i never could get winex to run on my fc1 system. I can't remember the
exact reason but it had something to do with my video card. So, I went
and downloaded an update driver from ati for Xfree86 4.3 (that's the
version I have). I installed the fglrx RPM and ran the config program.
Everything thing...

Help Reflashing Cisco / Aironet Boot Block by
[email protected]
Having exhausted every avenue at Cisco, I am turning to the Usenet
groups for help.
We use the Cisco / Aironet 4800 WLAN adapter cards (PC4800 or LM4800)
in one of our products. When we started back in 2000, the interface
supported ISA. Over time the interface migrated to pure PCMCIA and
the ISA...
