USB device interfering AM radio by
Man-wai Chang
I just discovered this. And I also found that the AC to USB power
adaptor does not have a metal ground pin.
So would this AM interference be gone after getting a better AC to USB
power adaptor?

BIOS question for an AMD Sempron 140 chip - what memory settings do I need? by

yes, I did post this to the AMD forum but that forum looks dead (three
weeks since last post) so I post this here. I think this is an easy
question to answer...
I recently got an old PC that has a AMD Sempron 140 chip. I upgraded
the memory to DDR3 (just more of the same as what was in the...

Experiences/Opinions regarding Crucial Ballistix ram? by
Doc[_2_]
Have a Core2 Duo machine I got off Ebay a while back, ran fine at
first, over time it started developing glitchiness which I traced back
to bad RAM - it came with two 1-gig sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR2,
with heatsinks. Memtest showed a wall of red. Never had RAM with a
heatsink before.
Anyone...

Can get internet but can't get the Web? What is up with that? by
RC[_3_]
I've not had much luck with the last few routers lately.
Now the router I have will not give me WWW access.
I can still access Usegroups though. I only do email via the web now
so I don't know if that works or not.
Any ideas why this is so?
Thanks

Cloning problems by
John B. Smith
I'm using WindowsXP. I back up by using an imaging program on my C;
drive. Being a belt-and-suspenders man, I also use a cloning drive.
It's a SATA 80gig Seagate, same as my C: drive. I use Maxtor MaxBlast
to clone the c: drive to this extra drive. When I boot with both of
these drives plugged in,...

Heat generation by
Mint
I was wondering why so much heat comes from the power supply fan.
Is the conversion from 120 Volt to the lower voltages that
inefficient ?
Thanks.

Can't boot from DVD by

Hi. Have I got some kind of motherboard virus or something. I do have
kaspersky. I can't get my PC to boot of either of my DVD drives. I
have disconnected one and tried that. They do work and one is brand
new. Auto insert works fine. Can't remember last time I needed it.
Thanks Desmond.

How to slice a 2TB drive? by

Here is the world according to me. Let me know if I am very far off
on this.
All I want to do is break the disk into 6 or so equal parts. The main
reason is to give each part its own drive letter and disk label. This

Two 1 terabyte HDs in a residential desktop Windows 7--any problems? by
RayLopez99
I installed two one terabyte SATA II hard drives on a new PC (Windows
7 desktop) with a i7 chip. BIOS gives an option of IDE vs AHCI--I
chose IDE since I heard it has fewer potential problems and is not,
for a non-commercial system, that much slower, and in fact sometimes
quicker.
But does...
