I ve seen on a web site that you can unlock a 1800xp on the L12 bridges and get it to 2600xp with a fsb of 333mhz. Where can i do this and does it have to be a certain core in order to do this? ie thoroghbred or palomino. cheers in advance........

The childish debate that's currently running... by Tin-Char D'un
Look folks, I hate say it but could you possibly take this "I love Ameriaca - no, I hate America" debate elsewhere? I have no objection to people expressing their opinions (and really, would it matter if I did?) but this isn't the place for it, I'm sure there are plenty of pro/anti American NGs out...

ASRock K7S8X SIS 746FX chipset. by Wes Newell
Got the ram today and tested everything. Worked fine. Built a control using a couple of dip switches so I could change vcore and multiplier. Scrap that idea. Didn't have much luck trying to solder to the cpu socket. So just inserted a wire in the socket to bring the vcore up to 1.80v. Anyway, It...

Performance decrease at 200FSB?? by Tin-Char D'un
Hi peeps, Well, back on the topic of overclocking (which everyone seems to have forgotten) I just hit that 'magical' 200MHz FSB with my XP2600+ and a multiplier of 10.5... Seems a little odd though as at 180x12.5 I get higher scores in 3dMark2001SE. Call me stupid if you want but surely to a...

CPU upgrades (Barton Blues) by Gaidheal
Your new fast processor will sit idle for as much as 90% of its duty cycle. Your bottleneck for performance will depend what you are doing.. but with "new" games it will be a combination of your video subsystem and your memory subsystem. Upping the FSB won't touch your memory, either. They...

266 FSB vs 133 FSB by Gaidheal
Actually... the FSB is indeed 133Mhz. The CPU simply operates in its core at a much faster rate than this by using a multiplier. And since all Athlons now are DDR memory bus has double throughput of "normal" SDRAM system with the same processor and memory. The bus clock is not actually any...

CPU/motherboard/Gfx by Gaidheal
Well... I recently tarted my system up a bit... and it so happens I bought the MSI 7NNXP (nForce 2 with Soundstorm) board and an FX5600. The board is excellent, my CPU is an Athlon XP 2400+ which I run at 10x200 to give the 2Ghz 'stock' speed. All my messing seems to suggest the board itself will...

Overclocked FSB - is this safe? by noise
Hi, I've just upgraded an old system to an Athlon XP 2600+ on an Epox 8RDA+ m'bd. with a single Samsung 256MB PC3200 DIMM (I'll get 2 x 512 of some real high-performance stuff when I've got the $) The board is the revision 1.1 version, chipset is NForce 2 ST. AFAIK this isn't the new 400mhz FSB...

New Computer questions by Gaidheal
K75SA has a known BIOS problem - specifically after a while certain revisions would blank the CMOS settings every time one of two temperatures was reached. The temperatures vary from board to board. Not the end of the world, but annoying and there are newer better boards now.
