Adding Memory To 700x by
Bozena
My March 2002 Gateway 700x desktop has two 256 MB memory modules.
I see on eBay, I can buy two 512MN DDR-400 for Gateway 2.8 GHz memory
RAM for a reasonable price. I see that my 700x has a 2.0 GHz chip. Should
this make a difference? I want to add the two 512MB modules to the existing
2ea 256 MB...

Adding second hard drive to older Gateway PC with controller card by
Mick
I tried to install a hard drive on a friends Gateway today (Pentium III 550
64MB RAM about 4.5 years old) and had a few problems. I only had a short
time to do it and will go back tomorrow when I have more time.
I think the PC had a controller card (Promise) and an existing 10GB drive.
I checked...

AGP or PCI video card? by
Boostm3
My GW Select 1000 pc AMD 2001 Motherboard has an AGP slot rated up to 4x
which currently holds my old
NVidia Vanta card. I just ordered a new GeForce FX5200 video card which can
run at AGP 8x. This card, despite its faster 8x spec rating , will run in
my AGP 4x slot, wont it?
Incidentally, I...

AGP Slot by
Scott
My Gateway E-3200 desktop has an AGP slot on the motherboard, but there's
no corresponding knockout on the back of the computer for the card to fit
flush with the outside. I have an Apollo 5200 video card with DVI. It's a
standard AGP card. It's obvious it won't fit, because the E-3200 is a...

Does anyone know if you can use just the lcd monitor of one of the older

is additional info you can get about your system. When I went to my
motherboard page for my FX530S system, there were links for a cool web
menu simulation of the...
