Gigabyte EP35-DSR3 issues solved by
Augustus[_3_]
After much hair tairing and BIOS flashing, RAM switching and swapping, hours
of BIOS settings playing, I noticed that whenever the system booted with the
BIOS changed for Auto on any fsb or memory settings whatsover, before the
system hung the USB external Vantec enclosure drive's light would...

Overclocking help!!! by
Vikraman
I have a Gigabyte 8I845GVM mobo with an Intel P4 2800.00 GHz with
onboard 845 graphics, AC'97 audio, realtek LAN. I tried overclocking
my processor, raising the clock frequency from default 100 to 108
(running Passmark Burnin test each time, verifying the reliability),
which stepped up my CPU to...

Network ieee 1394 question by
Jeff B
I have 1394 ports (6 pin) on two computers. Can I network them
by connecting a 1394 cable between them?
If so, do I need a 1 to 1 cable, or crossover cable?
Or something else?

3200 and 2100 RAM to mix or not? by
Marathon
I have a P4p800 with 2 sticks of corsair 3200 512 mb.
Someone sold me a pair of generic 2100 512s cheap.
Will the 2100 slow down the whole machine or is the extra gig worth it
anyway?
I multitask a lot.
TIA!

Overclocking P4 2.4c on P4S800 mobo by
Shoka
I have a deep trouble overclocking my P4 2.4c on my ASUS P4S800. Somehow I
can manage to go 2.52GHz but if I go further than that Windows will become
very unstable and will crash anytime, or as soon as I launch a game.
Here is a list of what I have done:
Raised the fsb to 210Mhz
Set the memory...

nVidia GeForce 5700LE overclockability by
Javi
Hello.
I've read 5700LE can reach two times its default core speed with it's
default cooling, this is from 250/400 mhz to 480/600 mhz (core/memory).
This is due to the fact that it has the same components as 5700 non
ultra and ultra models. The performance also doubles, reaching the 5700
ultra's...

5V rail gone bananas!!! by
Phil Weldon
Use your digital multimeter. Just check the +12 volts and +5 volts at one
of the drive power connectors (the four position in-line white Molex
connectors); black is ground, red is +5 volts, and yellow is + 12 volts.
Also try MotherBoardMonitor to monitor your voltages; it uses the
on-motherboard...

How do I unlock the AGP/PCI for MSI 865P Neo? by
Michael Lee
I tried to overclock my P4 2.8GHz by changing the FSB. I noticed that the
frequency for AGP/PCI and memory will change together with the FSB. I am
unable to just change the FSB only. How do I unlock the AGP/PCI frequency so
that only the FSB is changed? If not, i can't do overclocking.

Athlon XP-M 2500+ @ 4000+ -- claimed by a hardware site... by
no-name
http://www.tweakpc.de/tweaking/athlon_xpm_oc/athlon_oc.htm
as the subject line says
taking an Athlon XP-M 2500+ ( 1866 - 14 x 133 )
overclock to become a 4000+ ( 2535 - 11 x 230 )
before everyone gets too excited, the graphs imply
the CPU wasn't stable at that speed,

Difference between Zalman 7000 & 7000a by
Slamadatan
I notice that Zalman has got a new version of their popular 7000-Cu and
7000-AlCu heatsinks. Does anyone know the difference between the original
7000-Cu & 7000-AlCu and the 7000a-Cu and 7000a-AlCu? Do they fit on AMDs?
