Both are on the secondary IDE channel with the Pioneer the master and the
Yamaha the slave. Both are using the latest firmware.
I have encountered two issues however ...

CD R on Boombox CD Player by
SPS22
I just bought an inexpensive JVC boombox CD player. It is advertised
as playing CD R/W. Some of my CD-R's play fine, some don't. I tried
to burn the non-playing CD's again on my computer on different CD
brand, they still do not play. Is something wrong with this JVC
boombox? Should we get a...

Warning: Beware OfficeMax Rebates by

OfficeMax rebates now expire within 14 days, some in as little as 7
days. Do not buy any of these products unless you are good at filling
out and returning rebates immediately. They got me on about $150
worth of rebates over a period of about 4 weeks because I was
accustomed to six to eight week...

Why are blanks rated for max speed? by
Bob Babcock
Why are recordable CD and DVD blanks rated for a max burning speed? I
would think that this would be a function of the burner, not the media.
The only explanation I can think of is something like reciprocity failure
in film, but I would think power calibration would take care of this. What
am I...

Wait 4 months and get an 8x burner. If you must have
a burner now, A05's are deeply discounted. Oem's
were selling for $159 at a recent computershow I attended.

Light stays on by
Robert Hancock
Your post wasn't entirely clear - are you saying that the light stays on on
the Mitsumi drive with a CD inserted? I've seen some drives that always keep
the light on when a CD is in the drive, and just blink it when the disc is
accessed - this may be one of them..

HI, I went to burn my new cd I recorded after I had installed a new
Liteon burner last week. Wow, it gave me the only option of burning on
the other cd drive that is just an Atapi cdrom one. Strange.
However, all the rest of the info worked, so I just burned the CD with
